As the clinical research division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, PPD has launched Patient First, a group dedicated to enhancing the patient experience from the first click to the final visit. Using human-centered, digitally enabled solutions, Patient First optimizes patient recruitment and engagement, site operations, and quality data collection.
Patient First Digital Solutions is focused on making it easier for researchers to find, enroll and retain patients. The group is made up of three segments: Patient recruitment, decentralized trial solutions and site-enabling & patient-facing technology. All three segments are focused on reaching the patient where they are.
We are seeking a recognized industry leader with a passion for patient recruitment and a proven track record of developing new recruitment capabilities.
What you will do:
Within Patient First Recruitment Solutions, the Head of Locate will be a motivated recruitment leader that has a track record of successfully increasing access to research for patients. This action-orientated leader will provide strategic direction to global recruitment business operations and collaborate with other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic business plans to ensure expansion of all locate capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership:
Develop global recruitment strategies to help with expansion of locate capabilities.Expand global omnichannel capabilities and incorporate into established capabilities / workflows.Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and Recruitment Services advocate.Team Leadership & Development:
Build and manage effective and productive teams focused on data driven deliverables. Provide leadership to the global team and cultivate a supportive, motivating and collaborative work environment.Develop resource allocation plans and budgets, provide forecasts as needed.Business Development:
Create and present capabilities proposals to potential clients.Represents Patient First at professional meetings and conferences. Champions client relationships and supervises strategic sell initiatives of the department.How you will get there:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, MBA or relatedExperience:
Previous patient engagement or recruitment experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 15+ years).10+ years of management responsibility.In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Expert knowledge of clinical Patient RecruitmentCapable of analyzing data, anticipating, and mitigating risk, exercising sound judgment, problem solving, process-mapping, and decision-making while working under pressure and at times with limited informationStrong interpersonal skills and influencing at all levels, including the capability to build strong relationships in a matrix organizationStrong negotiation skillsCultural awareness with ability to work across geographies and culturesCapable of driving strategic plans using established relationships Capable of coaching, mentoring, and motivating staff to define and achieve organizational goalsOutstanding oral/presentation and written communication skills (English)Management Role:
Directs through lower management levels. Has responsibility for leading a function that includes multiple related departments. In some instances, they may be responsible for a functional area (as determined by executive management) and not have subordinate supervisors or employees.
