Job Description Summary

The Head of Life Distribution (SVP & MD, Wholesale Distribution) is responsible for the strategic leadership and execution for the sales strategy across Transamerica’s broad portfolio of Life insurance solutions. This role reports to Transamerica’s Chief Distribution Officer – Life, Annuities and Mutual Funds supporting 3 distribution channels: World Financial Group (WFG), Brokerage and Transamerica Agency Network (TAN). This role works closely with the leadership across protection solutions supporting life insurance to achieve its goals.

Job Description

Lead and provide strategic direction for the distribution of all Life products across diverse set of wholesale distribution teams including Brokerage, Transamerica Life Distributors (TLD)/WFG, and Transamerica Agency Network (TAN).Develop and execute a plan to achieve revenue, profitability and growth across channels with strategies focused on the Middle Market customer base and identifying opportunities to strategically move up market.Deepen partnership with WFG to achieve joint distribution goals and targets. Build/expand distribution relationships within Brokerage (including Marketing Organizations, Direct Marketers and Brokerage General Agencies) to drive growth.Support TAN leadership to drive career channel growth aligned with their strategic direction.Lead and operate with a growth and innovation mindsetDevelop client solutions providing consistency in service levels and support levels across product lines for partners and customersContribute to the achievement of production goals by developing, delivering and maintaining effective sales and marketing initiatives, recommending new initiatives to organizational leadership and implementing approved initiativesDirectly manage Sales and Distribution Team including Regional Vice Presidents, Hybrid wholesalers, Sales Partners and Life National Accounts.Maintain awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, share opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards with other members of the executive leadership team.Promote effectiveness and quality in sales initiatives, client support services and relationship building across multiple product lines.Work across functional departments to coordinate the sales effort (e.g. product, underwriting, marketing, operations/service, training programs, internal sales, and legal/compliance, etc.)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience15 years of industry experience, including leadership roles within Life DistributionIn-depth knowledge of the brokerage industry and wholesale/marketing organizationsDemonstrated experience in growing retail distribution within Life, with a preference in the middle market spaceTrack record of successfully leading large complex sales teamsStrong communication and presentation skills to deliver important messages to key internal and external stakeholders, and diverse groupsRelationship building skills and the ability to influence outcomesHigh energy & enthusiasm for the Transamerica mission to be the leader in Middle Market

Preferred Qualifications

Life licenseFINRA 6 & 26 preferred but not requiredKnowledge of Transamerica Life productsExperience and/or working knowledge of WFG or other large diverse marketing organizations

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $230,000 - $300,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.

This position may be eligible to earn commissions based on applicable sales incentive plan(s). All details pertaining to the calculation and payment of those commissions are available in the individual provisions of the sales incentive plan that applies.
