Head of Legal (Business, Contracts, IP & IT, Operations)

Your Role : 

Within the Group Legal team of Allianz Trade (at Group level):

provide legal advice and guidance to other functions, business lines and regions for managing legal operational risks with a business-oriented view supporting strategic and business initiatives on legal aspects promoting legal culture with a view to generate efficiencies and risk-mitigating strategy supervise a team of 2 people

 

Your Main Tasks : 

Provide legal advice on contractual/ commercial law, e.g.

                - lead the drafting, negotiation and review of a wide variety of commercial agreements and intra-group agreements (IT and non-IT services) with a business-oriented view, and risk-mitigating strategy; 

                - act as a point of contact for Allianz Trade business teams and functions regarding the drafting and negotiation of legal documents with a view to delivering the business strategies and priorities;

Provide advice on legal and regulatory aspects in relation to the insurance business carried out by the Allianz Trade group Provide legal support to global projects and business initiatives for different lines of business and secure operations from a legal and regulatory standpoints  Provide legal support to DPO on data protection related issues Coordinate with other internal functions, regions and business lines with a view to spreading legal culture within the Allianz Trade group and for internal reporting purpose Determine, review, overview and update legal standards and policies as well as legal processes at Allianz Trade group level Lead the proactive legal and regulatory watch and conduct impact assessment on the business strategy and projects  Proactively draft and continuously improve legal templates IP related topics: brand management and protection (registration, renewal and watchde, coexistence agreement), IP rights protection Overview, manage or assist with litigation, disputes, and regulatory investigations that may arise in relation to the scope in charge In relation to the above, instruct, liaise with and manage outside law firms, ensuring cost-effective and business oriented legal advice

Typical Functional skills / Experiences: 

At least 6+years of experience at a global company or international law firm.  Extensive experience that is directly relevant to the responsibilities outlined above in particular: drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, experience in advising global teams and leaders on legal matters, effective contributing to strategy discussions, experience in allocating and managing legal work in an international context. Master’s degree in business law with excellent academic record and demonstrated track record of excellence as a practicing in-house / lawyer.  Ability to understand big picture and pull together key information using keen judgement. Strong analytical and synthesis skills. Communication and negotiation skills.  Attention to detail, excellent follow up, good time management and prioritization are necessary.  Structured, organised, rigorous.  Fluent in English and French.  Team player. Keen to supervise people
