The role

As a Head of Learning and Development, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role develops departmental L&D plans and priorities to deliver business objectives and drives delivery against these through leading and influencing others, primarily managers and the sector senior leadership team.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll Lead on the creation and delivery of the nuclear sector people capability agenda, working in collaboration with the HR team and key stakeholders.

 

Using data and business insights to build a learning infrastructure that supports key technical competencies, mandatory training needs and close skills gaps. Ensure our employees develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviour to fulfil our purpose, reflect our principles, and are motivated to learn, grow and perform.  Ensure an effective model is created within the sector to manage L&D, Compliance, and current and future Skills demand. Work with stakeholders in the design and delivery of a blend of learning solutions e.g. workshops, e-courses or seminars that develop and enable individuals to perform new or existing tasks.  Establish and maintain effective governance, including management of risks and dependencies to enable successful delivery of the sector capability plan.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements is based on site at .


Essential experience of the Head of Learning and Development 

Experience of managing and delivering development programmes and projects that help to realise our purpose and deliver on our strategic objectives. Knows how to apply knowledge of learning theory and technology that supports a blend of learning interventions. Leadership skills and experience of leading and coaching teams Stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels. Commercial understanding of the business
