Head of Global Security Engineering

This position is responsible for managing and advancing JLL’s global security technology posture across the full-spectrum of cybersecurity controls.  The Head of Global Security Engineering provides strategic leadership across a range of business critical technology initiatives to include SDLC security, public cloud initiatives, network security, and endpoint security.  A successful candidate had demonstrable expertise in and a track record of success leading security engineering efforts supporting multiple cybersecurity functions such as vulnerability management, cloud and container security, data loss prevention, and cyber threat management. This role also has a strong understanding of the operations and challenges of their peers in adjacent engineering organizations.  The role will report directly the Global Chief Information Security Officer and, as the lead for global engineering efforts for security technologies, interface regularly with senior technology leadership across the company.  As such, the candidate should both understand modern security technology and engineering practices, as well as be able to communicate the benefits and impact of security technologies to those leaders who will be both supported by and supporting security technologies.  

Primary Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction for JLL's global security engineering function, aligning with overall business objectives and risk management strategies.Oversee and coordinate the activities of five critical security teams: Endpoint Security Engineering, Data Security Engineering, Network Security Engineering, Attack Surface and Cloud Security Engineering, and Security Project Management.Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies that protect JLL's global network, data, and IT infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.Champion an automation-first approach across all security engineering functions to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability of security operations.Drive innovation in security technologies and practices, staying ahead of emerging threats and industry trends.Collaborate with other IT and business leaders to ensure security measures support and enable business operations and growth.Develop and maintain strategic security metrics and dashboards that quantify risk, provide actionable insights, and align with business objectives.Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships for the global security engineering function.Serve as a key advisor to the Global CISO and other senior leaders on security engineering matters.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and innovation within the security engineering teams.Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.Develop and track key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness and maturity of security engineering programs.

Job Requirements

15+ years of experience in information security, with at least 8 years in senior leadership rolesDeep technical knowledge across multiple security domains, including network, endpoint, data, cloud, and application securityProven track record of building and leading high-performing security engineering teamsDemonstrated experience in implementing automation solutions for security processes and operationsStrong background in data analytics and metrics development, particularly in the context of cybersecurity and risk managementStrong understanding of cloud security principles and experience with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, and CISExperience in implementing and managing enterprise-wide security technologies and controlsStrong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree preferredRelevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are highly desirable

Estimated total compensation for this position:

300,000.00 – 369,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
