Head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Operations- Executive Director

Are you interested in being part of the team that makes direct impact to the firm’s business? You’ll play an integral role as a part of the Japan Operations organization, supporting to ensure the Japan businesses run effectively and efficiently. You will have holistic view of the end-to-end process management of all core production and client-servicing activities across each business.

As a Head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) Operations Executive Director supporting the Japan Fixed Income Sales & Trading franchise, you will be responsible for providing a “one-stop-shop” post-trade operations support covering Linear and Non-Linear products (Securities, Rates Derivatives, Currencies, Commodities) traded in Onshore and Offshore entities of JPMorgan. Relevant roles include Middle-office & Back-office functions spanning across Trade Management, Confirmation Drafting & Affirmation, Settlements, Margin Management, Note Events Management (as Calculation Agent), Client Valuation, Structured Notes Pricing, Regulatory Reporting and Projects.

Your role will involve coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders to facilitate business, efficiency, controls, strategic and regulatory initiatives. This will require active engagement and partnership at local, regional, and global levels to promote and execute our firm's strategic deliveries.

Reporting to the Head of Japan CIB Operations, this is an opportunity to lead a dynamic team, drive critical business, regulatory and transformation agendas, as well as developing and coaching talents and successors for the future in the country and in the region.

Job responsibilities

Display strong leadership in the execution of operations functions, taking full end-to-end accountability of all operational aspects impacting the business Work closely with the business heads to understand and support critical initiatives, also engaging with relevant stakeholders in the execution Collaborate with stakeholders in Japan and globally, serving as ambassador of local regulatory and client requirements to the rest of the bank Manage and evaluate risk through operational and financial metrics Identify, understand and implement new regulatory requirements impacting the business in Japan Manage internal and external audits and regulatory reviews and inspections. Keep senior management abreast of risks and issues and escalate as / when they arise Plan and manage financial budget, required resources and headcounts to support the franchise. Lead and promote digital agenda to improve efficiency and scale Build high performing teams with diverse back-grounds, culture and skill-sets.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Minimum 10 years of experience in operations within the financial markets and 5+ years of experience leading large teams Have strong knowledge of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities products and markets dynamics  Strong people manager with proven track record of building highly motivated and top performing teams, setting team structures, while managing costs within the set budget  Being able to manage multiple large books of strategic and transformation work, change priorities as / when required with ability to multitask in a ever changing environment Strong problem solving, controls, project management skills, effective communication, strong interpersonal and presentation skills Technical, analytical and problem solving, with ability to summarize complex themes to varied group of senior stakeholders Display sound judgment, professional maturity and a strong work ethic & integrity Ability to manage multiple work streams and work under a fast paced and dynamic environment Ability to demonstrate high risk awareness, operational control, problem solving and process improvement experience Ability to face off regulators with good domain of Local Legal Ledgers and Regulatory Reporting as well as local clients Effective communication skills in both English and Japanese
