Head of Estate Strategy
**About this role:** Wells Fargo Technology is seeking a Head of Estate Strategy **Duties include:** + Stewardship of FHP end-to-end infrastructure capital investment budget of $1.5B + Cross- functional capacity and demand management of entire IT infrastructure estate including 8 legacy and 4 target data centers, 159,000 servers, over 385PB of storage, and production network. + Capacity and demand oversight of ~150K virtual and physical servers, 385PB of storage and 155K databases across eight heritage core and regional data centers and four newly constructed data centers. + Develops and executes the Estate Management strategic vision for the FHP technology infrastructure and associated financial plans + Integrates technology infrastructure capacity management, demand, and workload arbitrage to optimize IT investment and financial performance + Ensure the alignment of IT engineering, infrastructure, operations, and financial strategies with the organizations' overall business objectives + Establish a single source of truth for demand request and consumption of FHE services, enabling predictable utilization and consumption + Ensure alignment to the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) guidelines for technology infrastructure capacity management + Drives the strategy for capacity planning, performance monitoring, and workload placement to enable scalability of the firms' IT infrastructure + Ensure robust regulatory compliance, risk management, through the implementation of Global Capacity Management processes and standards + Ensure detailed visibility, transparency, and governance over hybrid estate spending across the organization + Drive cost optimization initiatives, accurate budgeting, and precise forecasting for estate expenditures + Cloud arbitrage strategy + Partner with public cloud engineering leadership to develop and manage a hybrid strategy that optimizes the use of on-premise estate and public cloud environments + Leverage cloud arbitrage to maximize cost efficiency and performance for various workloads across the technology infrastructure platforms + Collaborate with cloud enablement teams to monitor cloud economics and resource utilization to make dynamic, data-driven decisions + Operational Efficiency and Performance + Streamline IT processes and workflows to enhance operational efficiency and productivity + Foster cross-functional collaboration between finance, operations, engineering, and infrastructure teams to achieve common estate goals + Implement advanced automation and real-time monitoring tools to optimize infrastructure resource utilization and performance + End-of-Life Management + Retirement planning: Create a global strategy for technology lifecycle management + Establish planning for the retirement of technology products, including data migration, decommissioning, and secure disposal of hardware and software + Communicate with consumers and stakeholders about end-of-life plans, providing a 24+ month rolling view to align with organizational planning cycles + Reporting and analytics + Provide actionable capacity reporting and analytics on infrastructure performance and financial metrics + Leverage data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives + Communicate key findings, strategies, and recommendations to the executive team and Operating Committee (OC) + Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads + Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities + Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders + Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans + Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices + Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers + Identify financial management and strategic resourcing + Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives + Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent + Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation + Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers + Lead team to achieve objectives + Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums + Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership + Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy **Required Qualifications:** + 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education + 4+ years of Management experience **Desired Qualifications:** + A Bachelor's Degree or higher and 10+ years of experience directly related to large-scale technology transformation programs + 15+ years of IT hardware and/or data center engineering and/or operational experience + 10+ years senior leadership role in a hosting environment, especially in a large financial institution. + 10+ years of experience managing technology transformation programs + 10+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology, especially in capacity and demand management + Experience managing a 50+ employee multi discipline engineering organization + Extensive professional experience in a global organization, with a successful track record in managing organizations and influencing people with an emphasis on teamwork + Significant knowledge of Dell Powerflex solutions + Proven track record leading large-scale technology transformation efforts, including establishing requirements, deļ¬ning technical aspects and identifying risks + In depth knowledge of data center technologies and associated environmental tooling and monitoring + Success in developing and executing emerging capacity and demand technologies + Sets standards for capacity and demand best practices. Driven process improvements across the organization + Conceived, initiated, and led projects with widespread impact on technology transformation, innovation, and implementation + Proven experience defining and implementing metrics; facilitate a data-driven decision-making environment + Experience with regulatory and auditor collaboration + Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create and deliver senior management messages + Ability to think "outside the box" while maintaining focus on practicality + Strong customer support and results oriented + Strong analytical skills, organization, and decision-making skills + Experience with Product and Agile frameworks and practices + Active in industry forums and standard/guideline setting organizations Job Expectations + Ability to travel up to 30% of the time + Must be able to work in-office at least 3 times per week in a hybrid model. + Must be able to work in one of the listed locations **Pay Range** Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
