Job Description
Define and lead the execution of the overall data foundation and delivery framework.
Define and lead the demand management, deployment and operation of appropriate data delivery processes both within the data office and wider organisationEstablish and manage an agile workflow for a remote data team, utilizing suitable tools and methodologiesDefine, lead and measure the organisational transformation to a data centric, insights driven culture using effective change management and awareness strategies coupled with appropriate training initiativesDefine and lead the data design capability ensuring close collaboration with enterprise architecture and adoption within the broader data functionsDefine and lead the data transformation function to support the development, implementation, continuous improvement, communication and related monitoring/administration of policies, processes, standards, and guidelines that pertain to data and information management governance.Proactively map data risks and ensure compliance with data related regulations, policies and standardsLead the development, implementation, tracking and reporting of the enterprise data and information maturity model, including executive sponsorship for remedial actions.Lead the data enablement practise responsible for data quality, data enrichment, metadata and the information lifecycle management.Lead the transformation of the human capital capability within the data team .Ensure appropriate succession planning is in place so as not to put the strategic objectives at risk.Continuous improvement to ensure effective service
Ensure statutory and legislative knowledge is always current in order to resolve complaints, to advise the business on corrective solutions to mitigate risks and to improve the customer experience whilst complying with governance requirements.Ensure adherence to organisational policies, practices and procedures.Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.Service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction
Maintain service, quality and desired outputs across the business process by ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.Establish productive operational relationships with key stakeholders in the various channels and administrative teams.Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules in order to manage achievement of service delivery goals.Share knowledge on, and participate in the creation of new standards, control systems and procedures to maintain service delivery.Ensure cost efficiency through financial and corporate governance
Contribute to the development and implementation of fit for purpose budgets.Manage supplier relationships, and budgets associated with projects.Manage quality people practices
Align own behaviour with the organisation culture and values.Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues and team members.Collaborate and work with the business to deliver required service levels.Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, isRelevant degree in Computer Science/Engineering,8 – 10 years’ experience in end to end SDLC and implementation of data management frameworks.5 – 8 years’ experience in IT infrastructure deployment and management.Extensive experience in data driven design in software application development.Extensive experience in the design and deployment of data marts and warehouses.Oversees and implements the data management and governance strategy in the organisation.ResponsibilitiesLeadership and DirectionCommunicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
Business Requirements IdentificationElicit complex business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
Data ManagementManage key aspects of the data management system. This includes being responsible for developing or operating key elements of the system.
Database SpecificationsApprove database specifications, ensuring all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.
Analysis of "As Is" and "To Be"Document complex "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
Information SecurityLead in detecting and analyzing security incidents, including attacks, breaches, and identified vulnerabilities, and remediate any security gaps in line with the security incident management procedure.
Data ArchitectureImplement all aspects of data architecture, turning event analytics, raw application data, and business systems into key business insights.
BudgetingDevelop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.
Operational ComplianceMonitor and review performance and behaviors within area of responsibility to identify and resolve noncompliance with the organization's policies and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct.
Organizational Capability BuildingUse the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
Performance ManagementManage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.
