About the opportunity

As we evolve to meet the changing needs of our customers, we are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to lead the Courier Services team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in our Logistics and Operations division, while managing a national team responsible for the high standards of our courier services.
As the Head of Courier, you will oversee a diverse team, delivering exceptional courier and logistics services to our customers. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, profitability, and innovation, ensuring we stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry.
Ideally, this role is based in Melbourne, but applications from candidates located in Sydney and Brisbane will also be considered. The successful candidate will be required to travel frequently due to the national footprint of our courier business.
What you’ll deliver with us
• Operational Leadership: Lead and develop a national team of managers responsible for the performance and profitability of Courier Services, ensuring the efficient execution of point-to-point logistics, tailored distribution solutions and on-demand requirements.
• Customer-Focused Excellence: Champion the continuous improvement of service delivery, addressing operational challenges and enhancing the customer experience.
• Safety & Wellbeing: Foster a safety-first culture within your team, driving compliance with OH&S policies and ensuring the wellbeing of all employees.
• Innovation: Develop and implement product and technology innovations that improve customer value propositions, streamline operations, and increase profitability.

• Industry Leadership Experience: Proven operational leadership in a large, complex national organisation with an understanding of logistics, transport, and distribution services.
• Strategic Insight: Experience in developing and executing business strategies, leading change, and driving operational and financial performance.
• People Leadership: Strong people management skills with the ability to coach and develop high-performance teams while fostering a culture of engagement and inclusivity.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Effective relationship-building with key internal and external stakeholders, including unions, customers, and government representatives.
About you
You are a strategic and results-driven leader with a passion for improving operational performance and delivering exceptional customer outcomes. You possess deep industry knowledge, an ability to manage large teams, and a track record of driving transformational change. Above all, you lead with integrity, inspire others to do their best work, and foster a culture of safety, inclusivity, and innovation.
You’ll also need
• Tertiary qualifications in logistics, business management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale operations, managing P&L responsibilities, and driving strategic initiatives.
• In-depth understanding of financial management, safety leadership, HR practices, and industrial relations.
• Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong people management skills, with experience leading teams through change or transformation agendas.
• Program management capability, including experience building roadmaps with clear deliverables and success measures.
