**The position**
To lead the Corporate Affairs functions in Southamerica region. To develop, protect and promote Boehringer Ingelheim's corporate profile, brand and reputation with internal and external stakeholders and experts to ensure they are fully informed about the businesses, its activities, products and services, and see Boehringer as a partner of choice. As an active member of the Division’s Extended Corporate Affairs Leadership Team and together with their corporate and region counterparts plays an active role in developing campaigns, aligning on strategic topics and priorities to secure tactical and operational alignment across Corporate Affairs globally.
**Tasks and responsibilities**
+ Develops and executes an effective internal communications strategy aligned with our Global Priorities and Communications agenda to ensure everyone in the region is actively and positively engaged with the organization’s strategy and objectives, plans, and activities, and understands the Boehringer values and behaviors and their application.
+ Develops and executes an effective and impactful public and government affairs strategy to shape the necessary policy environment so that it is favorable to Boehringer Ingelheim, engaging a broad range of public policy stakeholders such as politicians, industry associations, and policy makers.
+ Develops evidence that matters for government decision-making, establishing long-term relationships with policy and decision makers, positioning Boehringer Ingelheim as a partner of choice.
+ Acts as a critical link, internally connecting with Boehringer Ingelheim, including e.g., Human Pharma Healthcare Affairs and Patient Engagement, and externally connecting Boehringer Ingelheim with policy makers’ needs and expectations.
+ Monitors the political and policy environment, ensuring senior management is fully informed of key developments with a significant business impact.
+ Promotes and protects Boehringer Ingelheim’s corporate profile, brand, and reputation based on our Global Priorities, and our global Communications and Public and Government Affairs agendas, so that we help foster unique collaborations and partnerships, attract and retain future employees, and build trust with stakeholders in our products, our science and our brand. This includes overseeing the corporate social media channels and advising the business on social media techniques and tactics.
+ Defines and executes fully integrated, strategic, campaign-driven and impactful communications, maximizing (product) awareness and managing the brand and reputation of Boehringer Ingelheim to support profitable growth of the portfolio across the Animal Health and Human Pharma businesses.
+ Develops and manages plans for handling communications at times of crisis; advises senior management on all aspects of communications at such times; creates and delivers any necessary communications and engagement plans following a crisis
+ Risks to reputation are minimized, stakeholders are managed appropriately, and the organization is restored to "business as usual" as quickly as possible
+ Drives the region Sustainable Development for Generations (SD4G) and local community engagement communications.
+ Leads the Corporate Affairs team ensuring high performance and motivation by providing coaching, training, regular constructive feedback on performance and opportunities for development.
+ Acts as a sparring partner and advisor to the Country Managing Director (CMD) and relevant ManCo colleagues as they engage internally and externally with stakeholders.
**Requirements**
+ University Degree in Social Comms area or Business Administration, Master's degree (e.g. MBA, MSc)
+ At least ten years of experience in Communication and Corporate Affairs roles
+ At least five years of experience in leadership roles
+ Advanced in english
+ Previous experience in similar positions in the pharmaceutical and/or health industry
+ Health system knowledge. Experience working with government institutions and stakeholders in the sector.
+ Ability to lobbying effectively and open doors.
+ Ability to work closely with the business.
