Department OverviewThe Cloud Platform Engineering team (CPE) is Motorola Solutions' organization of cloud subject matter experts specializing in the deployment, management, operations, compliance and security of our cloud-based and hybrid solutions. The organization delivers solutions at scale, with efficiencies delivered through common services, industry expertise, and centralized cost management and monitoring. CPE facilitates partnerships with hardware and software vendors, and other technology partners, and streamlines our interactions with their infrastructure and services. We also accelerate cloud development and hybrid deployments and optimize operations, management & cost through scale and specialization with cloud-native services and agile processes.
Job Description

Motorola Solutions invites applications for the Head of Cloud FinOps position to guide our cloud financial strategy. The role demands expertise in financial management, cloud cost control, and team leadership to ensure cost-effective cloud infrastructure operations without compromising on performance. You will be responsible for a diverse team of finops experts who will lead the finops practice across MSI. 
 

Responsibilities:

Spearhead the FinOps program, enhancing collaboration with technical and product teams for expense management.

Develop and implement a company-wide showback model for technology expenses.

Set, track, and report on KPIs related to financial and strategic objectives.

Conduct financial modeling, scenario analysis, and trend identification to support policyholder value and financial robustness.

Establish FinOps best practices with cross-functional leaders.

Formulate Cloud Discount Management strategies for cost efficiency.

Lead cloud cost optimization initiatives and manage the FinOps team.

Create and execute a strategic cloud FinOps plan and roadmap.

Review cloud service invoices in detail for accuracy.

Assist teams in realizing financial goals by recommending cost-cutting measures.

Lead a team that generates business intelligence reports and participate in the annual budgeting process.

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree with 10+ years of cloud application and finance experience.

5+ years in financial leadership with strong analytical, planning, and communication skills.

Ability to develop and interpret financial models for complex analysis

Proven track record in FinOps, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in financial modeling and cost control.

Familiarity with cost allocation tools like Apptio and major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Proficiency in cloud optimization tools and strategies, with a focus on client needs.

Excellent communication skills, capable of creating impactful presentations and building strong relationships.

Ability to independently lead and manage complex projects with an innovative mindset

MBA Degree is a plus!

Basic Requirements
