Job objectives and responsibilities
· To provide subject matter expertise in catering across the Healthcare sector supporting account leads and Catering Managers with advice, guidance and direction in delivering the catering strategy
· To develop a leading value proposition for both retail and patient catering, integrating cutting-edge technology to support the growth targets of Healthcare sector and Mitie Group.
· Develop and implement catering sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit targets
· Lead and motivate specialist catering team to deliver high performance and customer satisfaction
· To provide service excellence through supportive leadership and hands on support of initiatives and associated projects in line with the NHS Review of NHS Hospital Food
· To collaborate with business development team on bids and marketing initiatives, leading on the catering solutions, pricing and technology.
· Develop a culture of continuous improvement, and implement margin enhancing initiatives to drive growth and profitability
· Develop and implement Net Zero strategies to exceed NHS targets and deliver Mitie's Group targets.
· Monitor and analyse catering performance metrics across the sector to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene and safety.
Main duties
· Responsible for reviewing and implementation of catering policies and procedures, ensuring that these reflect industry trends and best practices to continuously improve catering offerings.
· To take part in benchmarking exercises and also conduct regular surveys to promote customer satisfaction
· Works closely with various client facing roles and other stakeholders to execute their role effectively. Creates a network of stakeholders (internal/external) and collaborates on a regular basis to achieve their goals
· Measures and establishes appropriate targets and objectives, and analyses, appraises and interprets performance for the contract in line with set criteria agreed by the contract manager
· Organises, divides, and delegates/distributes workload into manageable activities, dependent on expertise/area of focus whilst tracking completion levels to usefully achieve the desired milestones
· Motivates and communicates, creating a team from a group of people, through decisions on pay, placement, promotion, and through communications with the team on various initiatives and focus areas
· Ensures that all colleagues are trained in accordance with clients and companies requirements meeting both hard & soft needs
· Communicates in an engaging way, ensuring inspiring and motivating messages are conveyed across all teams
· Effectively resources the team in line with business requirements and takes a proactive approach through business forecasting
· Manages performance management for the entire team, ensuring there are MiReviews completed for all team members with clear next steps
· Uses initiative to identity talented colleagues across their teams and site to ensure they are developed/supported through their career aspirations and building a pipeline of successors
· Ensures that engagement action plans are brought to & kept alive across the entire team, creating a positive that contributes to making Mitie a great place to work
· Utilises the internal HR systems, people support services and guidance to promote best practice and enable their people management accountabilities
· Ensures that all payroll and absence management process are effectively controlled to minimise disruptions and impacting on engagement levels
· Fully responsible for purchases and stock control. Develops processes to ensure all service provisions are captured and billed correctly

Person Specification
· Proven experience in catering sales and operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
· In-depth knowledge of food and beverage trends, menu planning, and costing.
· Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and exhibit strong leadership, including matrix management.
· Demonstrated skill in managing budgets and account plans.
· Relevant degree such as Master's and Bachelor's degree in business management.
· Strong understanding of the healthcare sector, including the challenges and regulations specific to hospitals.
· Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
· Demonstrated track record of driving business growth and achieving revenue targets within a key role.
· Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
· Proactive and results-oriented approach, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Flexibility to travel as required to meet with stakeholders and attend meetings.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and catering software applications.
