Ensure all product obtained timeously and at the best price as per customer trends

Forecast prices and market trend analysis
Identify customer preferences and forecast consumer trends
Work closely with the Art Department to influence design concepts
Discover and purchase new products and check the quality and popularity of those already on our shelves
Attend events fairs and exhibitions to remain uptodate with the markets trends

Negotiate purchase & supplier agreements
Evaluate supplier options according to prices quality etc and determine the best choices
Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best deal for our company
Forge and maintain trust relationships with suppliers to promote fair dealing

Conduct Budget and Cost analysis
Create reports on sales budgets and customer satisfaction and adjust your strategies accordingly

Logistics Order management & Quality Assurance
Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase
Monitor stock levels and make plans for buying within budget
Ensure product arrives &lsquoRetail Ready&rsquo according to all quality assurance controls

Reporting / Adhoc activities
Ensure effective monitoring and delivery of key metrics &ndash develop dashboard for frequent reporting to ExCo and wider business
Support Chief Product & Customer Officer with any adhoc requests aligned to Business Strategy

Requirements
Matric with Mathematics is essential
Bachelors Degree in Business Economics or other relevant field is preferable
7 years buying exposure in homeware/ appliances & cookware
Buying experience in a retail and/or ecommerce environment
Proven experience as a retail buyer or relevant role
Experience in sourcing out of China with direct factory experience
Ability to identify and capitalize on current trends and apply to product development
A clear understanding of the retail cycle and buying process
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of SAs retail appliance market regulatory requirement customers and competitors
Proven negotiation skills and experience with supplier management both locally and internationally
