Head of Business Execution, Controls & Data – Commodities, MD
As Head of Business Execution, Controls & Data for Commodities, you will be a member of the Markets COO and Commodities Leadership teams. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence and strategic delivery within Commodities. You will be reporting directly to the Markets COO and matrix to the Head of Commodities. **Responsibilities:** + **Risk Management:** Identify, assess, and mitigate risks inherent in physical and financial commodity trading. This includes operational, regulatory (e.g., CFTC), market, and counterparty risks. + **Regulatory Compliance:** Ensure that all Commodities activities adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards, proactively engaging with regulators and ensuring robust monitoring programs. + **Operational Efficiency:** Streamline and optimize processes within Commodities, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and adherence to industry best practices. + **Strategic Planning:** Collaborate with Commodities leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that align with overall business objectives. + **Budget Management:** Develop and oversee the budget for the Commodities Business, including your own team. This encompasses forecasting, resource allocation, monitoring expenditures, optimizing cost control, and identifying opportunities to support business growth while ensuring alignment with the broader Commodities financial strategy. + **Team Leadership:** Lead a dedicated team of professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. + **Data Strategy:** Operationalize the firm's data strategy within Commodities by ensuring high-quality, timely data delivery to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders. This includes partnering across the bank to define priorities, implement robust data governance and quality controls, and launch initiatives to maximize the value of commodity data. + **Data Analytics and Reporting:** Develop and deliver regular reports and performance metrics utilizing data-driven insights to inform strategic and tactical decision-making within the Commodities business. + **Change Management:** Drive change management initiatives within Commodities, ensuring the successful implementation of process improvements and technology enhancements, including adherence to evolving regulatory requirements. + **Stakeholder Engagement:** Engage with internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships, and representing the Commodities Business Execution at a strategic level. **Qualifications:** + Extensive experience within a leading investment bank or financial institution, with a proven track record in operations, risk management, controls, or a similar function. + Deep expertise in physical and/or financial commodity markets, including trading, settlement, and risk management practices. + Strong leadership and team management skills across multiple locations, with experience leading high-performing and diverse teams. + Sound knowledge of global commodity markets, regulations (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR), and industry best practices. + Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. + Sound financial acumen, budget management skills, and experience working with financial data and reporting. + Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, manage complex projects, and drive results in a dynamic environment **What we can offer you:** We work hard to have a positive financial and social impact on the communities we serve.
