Head Mechanic

Responsibilities:

To ensure that spares budgets are adhered to and managed To ensure that budgets are no exceeded and where cost savings be introduced identified key critical spares are not out of stock - reporting and monitoring To ensure that unplanned down time is restricted amount To ensure preventative maintenance and maintenance plans are in place to reduce/eliminate down time To reduce waste management in regard to Time and costs To implement reporting on constant improvement and identify and report on improvements. To ensure that machines are in optimal working order to ensure optimal outputs Ensure that all machines are serviced, and preventative maintenance is implemented - ensure processes are documented and instituted Enable critical spares to be available at all times to reduce down time Identify critical spares and ensure stock levels are maintained To ensure that mechanics cover andavailability per lines is properly planned and communicated  Mechanic planning of resources is done and communicated to relevant management, recorded and reported on. Develop a mechanics skills matrix and identify opportunities for training and organize training - then evaluate Mechanic to remain on the line at all times, to share knowledge with Lines. Feedback from Line management 360 feedback – monthly Ensures that planning production meetings, production activities, machine preventative and maintenance plans are implemented and maintaining product quality That technical development is continuous and ensuring that all the latest technologies and developments are researched and investigated Exposing staff to new technology and ways of doing things to encourage constant improvement Employment Relations -Maintain discipline by consistently applying the DP of TFG Ensure a healthy and safety work environment for teams Implementation of individual development plans and training needs Continuous communication of code of conduct Health and safety reports are generated and monitored Health and safety reports are generated and monitored

Requirements: 

3-5 years manufacturing industry experience essential Management experience essential Sewing Machine/Repairs and Maintenance qualification or equivalent essential Experience in managing budgets essential Experience in managing spares and parts essential Experience in waste management reviews and downtime essential Must be Computer literate (Microsoft Office), Excel  Experience in managing a workshop and response time to production essential Experience in setting production line and line changes Experience in reporting
