We are working with a national operator to source a Head Construction. This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis. Please see details below.
Title: Head Construction
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Location: Onshore (Qatar Site/Doha HQ)
Working Schedule: 5 days per week / 8-9 hours per day or as per project requirements.
--Experience Required--
Key Job Accountabilities
• Focal point, responsible and accountable for brownfield modifications to ensure the fabrication and brownfield modifications in live assets and wellhead platforms are executed in accordance with approved Scope of Work, approved drawings, QHSE and client standards & specifications.
• Act as an interface between asset holder and Contractor and provide guidance to construction supervisors and contractor to ensure that all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved method statements complying with project schedule, quality and HSE requirements.
• The position is predominantly focused on offshore brownfield modifications in live assets, Halul Island and remote wellhead platforms of Mechanical, Structural, Piping and telecom disciplines.
• Participate in all engineering workshops during FEED and EPIC.
• Manage and guide the contractor during engineering, review, comment and approve contractor deliverables in PDMS.
• Attend engineering workshops such as Constructability review, SIMOPS, Schedule Risk Analysis, 3D Model Reviews, HAZOP, Lifting Plan reviews and provide inputs to ensure that these workshops are complying to client requirements.
• Ensure Contractor execute the fabrication of brownfield structures in onshore and modification of existing Wellhead jackets in offshore in accordance with client requirements.
• Monitor, control and report Contractor’s performance, man-power deployment, plant and equipment’s movements, construction slippages etc.
• Act as the Risk Management representative to identify Risk events related to brownfield modification in live assets and wellhead platforms, its effects & consequences, propose mitigation measures and take ownership to ensure mitigation measures have been implemented at site.
• Liaise with senior discipline engineers, project engineers and other stake holders through all phases of the project for all construction related matters including inputs during the detailed engineering and procurement stages.
Review daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports for assigned projects and verify contractor’s progress statements for accuracy.
• Coordinate the MCC walk through, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with contractor, vendors, and end users.
• Maintain a daily record of progress noting special comments. Reports to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors to offshore sites following the contract award.
• Interact and interface with other contractors, projects, departments regularly to identify and resolve all construction related matters especially liaison with Production and Wellhead Maintenance departments.
• Participate weekly and monthly HSE walkthrough and monthly HSE audits.
• Support client in development of new standards, specification, guidelines etc and support enhancement of existing corporate documents.
--Minimum Requirements--
Qualifications
• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering discipline from a recognized University (or) Petroleum Engineering discipline or equivalent plus relevant courses in Safety, Quality Control and Construction.
Knowledge and Key Skills
• Candidate should have a minimum of 15 years overall experience in supervising fabrication yard and offshore construction management/brownfield modification of live production facilities, wellhead platforms etc. including review and approval of EPIC contractor deliverables.
• Candidate must have robust experience in FEED and EPIC projects with strong capability to review/approve contractor deliverables.
• Computer literate. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent command of English Language (oral and written)
• Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and environmental awareness.
• Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules and drawings.
• Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks/problems and ability to suggest solutions.
• Ability to supervise a multi-national and multi-cultural contractor workforce.
