Internship Duration:10-week internship (May 27-August 1, 2025)
About the Internship:Are you looking to develop valuable business and data management skills in a dynamic work environment? Join NCDOT’s Data Management Services team as a Business Operations Intern, where you’ll gain hands-on experience in records management, customer support, and public records compliance. This position supports the Data Control unit, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of services critical to managing motor vehicle records and agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Compare use agreement information to ensure accuracy, proper formatting, and compliance
+ Scan and file new and renewed use agreements appropriately
+ Perform office tasks such as records management, preparing correspondence and documents, researching, and managing multi-line phone systems
+ Collaborate with the Data Use Agreements Manager to address customer concerns and resolve issues
+ Assist in setting up user access for governmental and commercial customers to obtain motor vehicle records
+ Work with the Department of Information Technology (DIT) to troubleshoot and resolve system access issues
+ Maintain and organize Use Agreement files and send bulk data files as needed
Ideal Candidate:We are looking for a detail-oriented, problem-solving individual pursuing a degree in Business Education, Computer Science, or a related field. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to identify and address problems effectively, and a willingness to learn.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
+ Must be a currently enrolled full-time student in a bachelors, masters, or professional level program at an accredited or recently graduated from a North Carolina Historically Black College/University (HBCU) or Minority Serving Institution (MSI) within the past three years.
+ 24 credit hours completed.
+ Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 (on 4.0 scale)
+ Has legal right to work in the U.S. and do not need sponsorship
