FPGA Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated FPGA Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and drafting of new hardware products and revisions to existing products.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and draft new hardware products and revisions to existing products.Evaluate contract requirements for designing new products and modifications to existing products.Provide guidance and interface with production to ensure error-free assembly.Capture schematics and design printed circuit boards.Interface with engineers on PCB layout, power distribution, and any special considerations.Attend weekly engineering meetings and report the status of current projects.Process Engineer Change Requests.Essential SkillsExperienced in digital circuit design, VHDL, and FPGA design software (Actel and Xilinx).Knowledge of PCB development techniques and software (schematic capture and board layout).Experience in CAD for designing assembly drawings.Experience with electrical test equipment (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, DMM).Able to assemble computer chassis.Experience with PCB debugging and rework.Intermediate soldering skills.Familiar with Windows OS and MS Office programs (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook).Strong technical writing skills.Work Environment

You will be working in a small company environment where you will have the opportunity to lead projects and work on the entire project lifecycle. The role involves interfacing with production to ensure error-free assembly and providing customer support. The work environment includes using CAD software, electrical test equipment, and MS Office programs. This role is on-site in Goleta 5 days a week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $75.00/hr.
