Hardware Engineer
Job Title: Hardware Design EngineerJob Description This role primarily involves hardware design of 2-4 layer boards, quality assurance of the boards, and troubleshooting problems in the field. The position requires supporting, maintaining, and improving electrical test equipment and components, integrating software with existing systems, and documenting functionality. Additionally, you will perform programming, analysis, and troubleshooting of electronic hardware and prototypes, and contribute to product design documentation and test reports throughout a product's life span. Responsibilities + Support, maintain, and improve electrical test equipment and components. + Integrate software with existing systems. + Support, maintain, and document functionality. + Perform programming, analysis, and troubleshooting of electronic hardware and prototypes. + Contribute to product design documentation and test reports throughout a product's life span. + Analyze analog, power, and digital circuits including sensors, 12-24 bits ADCs, displays, programmable logic, and 8/16/32bit microcontrollers/microprocessors. + Create documentation including technical requirements, functional specifications, manufacturing test specifications, qualification test plans, and product change notices. + Support validation and manufacturing engineers/technicians in test creation and fixture design. + Support manufacturing on new product releases as well as sustain current production products supporting quality improvements, cost reduction, test, component obsolescence, and failure analysis. + Evaluate product returns/failures to determine root cause and corrective actions. + Travel up to 10%, all U.S. based (mostly Midwest). Essential Skills + Self-starter + Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar field + 5 years of experience designing firmware + Embedded C/C++ + Python + Experience with Altium, KiCAD, or a similar PCB Design package Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with C# on Windows Work Environment The position is 100% onsite with standard hours of 8-5 or 7:30-4:30, Monday-Friday, totaling 40 hours a week.
