Reference PE002994 Location Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth Salary Interval Monthly Package None-negotiable Description Our client in the Manufacturing Industry based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ a Handyman.
Requirements:
Up to 3 years’ technical, maintenance and facilities experience as a Handyman in a manufacturing environment. Grade 12 Certificate (NQF 4). Handyman Training Courses. Basic Computer Literacy. Housekeeping and safety principles.
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
Repairs (40%):
Diagnoses root causes of failures and performs speedy repairs to rectify them. Implements carpentry, building, roofing, and facilities repairs to minimize operational disruptions. Ensures optimal maintenance through the application of technical and engineering standards. Closes out maintenance job cards upon completing work (Shop Ware). Supports and liaises with Production by identifying potential problems in a proactive manner as well as resolving process-related problems and planned maintenance to production runs. Reports maintenance repairs performed to the Quality Assurance Engineer. Conducts routine inspections and diagnoses necessary maintenance work. Communicates with Supervisors/Production to schedule maintenance time. Coordinates parts availability to execute maintenance routines. Compiles written reports for Quality Assurance on unusual conditions. Training (10%):
Assists with Apprentice training, including preparing training machines for corrective equipment instruction. Compliance (10%):
Operates within controls and procedures to maintain company integrity, reporting risks or concerns to management and promoting compliance to prevent wasteful or irregular expenditure. Cost Control (5%):
Ensures effective use of resources, limits expenditure, reduces costs, and reports budget deviations to the Manager. Customer Service (5%):
Maintains effective relationships with employees and customers to deliver quality service, solving problems with integrity aligned to company values. Staff Supervision (10%):
Ensures ongoing training and development of employees. Addresses employee relations matters fairly and promptly.
