Position Summary

A Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of guests and team members and maintaining public order within the hotel, to include public areas and grounds; this is in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service. This position will notify law enforcement when necessary to assist in maintaining order.

Responsibilities

 Monitoring all areas of hotel to include hallways, public areas, stairwells, lobby, patio areas, and lounge; watching for suspicious persons and monitor noise levels.

 Continuously patrolling guest room floors, heart of house, parking lot, and lounge

 Checking all doors and stairwells to make sure the locks are secure

 Maintaining order by directing and escorting unruly patrons from the property to taxis, friends, etc. for transport out of the building

 Ensuring fitness center, guest laundry, and pool hours are observed by guests

 Enforcing hotel curfew

 Reporting any accidents that occur on shift and filling out appropriate Incident Report

 Providing information to guests about hotel policies, services, and amenities

 Responding to requests from guests for assistance and information about the local area (e.g. directions, attractions, plunging toilets, delivery of linen, etc.)

 Listening and responding to guests’ request and complaints

 Operating hotel switchboard as necessary

 Maintaining daily logs

 Assisting both arriving and departing guests with their luggage

 Delivering special request items such as cribs to guest rooms as needed

 Picking up trash from parking lot and garden areas as needed

 Assisting with meeting room set up/breakdown and maintenance as needed

 Driving guests to/from local destinations in a company vehicle

 Driving company vehicle for company related business errands

Requirements

 Prior experience in security or related field is preferred

 Competent in conflict and crisis management

 Excellent decision making skills

 Strong initiative and work ethic

 Punctual , reliable, and regular attendance

 Strong attention to detail

 Customer-service oriented

 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

 Excellent interpersonal skills

 Valid driver’s license and Department of Motor Vehicles Report (if applicable)

o Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet the required criteria for driving a company vehicle
