A key part of the global strategy is to sustainably continue to grow the capabilities of our existing member firms and support their continued development, plus to bring in new additions to the network (e.g. By mergers and acquisitions) and exit firms that do not meet our quality and risk management requirements.
The network capabilities team is focused on protecting and growing the network and on collaborating with member firms around implementing the global network strategy.
The associate director plays a key role supporting the director, in their role liaising with member firms to develop and execute their M&A strategy for their local markets, aligned to the network strategy.
As part of the M&A team’s role in assisting member firms with M&A strategies, the associate director will also ensure all policies and procedures are followed with respect to reporting and assessing of transactions entered into across the network.
The associate director will also assist the team in evaluating markets that are interesting from the network perspectives, using industry and market data to share informative insights with global leadership and member firm stakeholders.
Main responsibilities Work with the M&A team, director, regional teams, service line teams and member firms to identify and assess opportunities in the regional markets, with a focus on those markets identified as strategically important to the network, and opportunities which close capability gaps Support the M&A team in their discussions with member firms encouraging M&A and addressing questions they may have Monitor domestic and international M&A as required, including overseeing the management of the GTIL Consents process Help oversee, along with M&A team and Director, the member firm transaction policy process, which includes liaising with member firms, GTIL stakeholders, and when required, Global Leader and Global Leadership Team (GLT) Oversee the maintenance and collection of historic M&A details, including volume and value of deals per annum Prepare specific market assessments to be reviewed by Director, Global Head and GLT, to identify strategically relevant opportunities to strengthen the network Monitor and maintain global GT Connect site, with the goal of creating a sense of community for internal M&A member firm development specialists across the network Support the international community of like-minded experts, connecting resources together, and sharing best practices across different member firms Working with the M&A team and Director, prepare M&A support materials for member firms e.g. Compelling Reasons materials, template documents and guidance
