Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Group Manager – US Life & Annuities to lead large-scale operations, drive automation and process migration, and manage a team of 100+ FTEs. The ideal candidate will have strong domain expertise in US Life Insurance and Annuities, exceptional leadership skills, and experience in process optimization, automation, and transitioning functions from onshore to offshore locations.

The role demands a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can collaborate with stakeholders, improve operational efficiencies, and ensure compliance with industry regulations while delivering superior customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Team Management

Lead and manage operations for US Life & Annuities, overseeing a team of 100+ FTEs across multiple processes.Ensure SLAs, KPIs, and compliance metrics are consistently met or exceeded.Develop strategies to improve process efficiencies, accuracy, and customer experience.Monitor operational risks, implement mitigation plans, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.Drive continuous process improvements, leveraging automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Automation & Process Optimization

Identify opportunities for automation and AI-driven process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions.Collaborate with technology and RPA teams to implement automation solutions.Drive the adoption of workflow automation, AI chatbots, OCR, and analytics tools to enhance service delivery.Evaluate and implement best practices in digital transformation within the Life & Annuities domain.

Migration & Transition Management

Manage end-to-end process migrations, including knowledge transfer, transition planning, and stabilization.Work with stakeholders for seamless transitions from onshore to offshore, ensuring minimal business disruption.Develop robust transition frameworks, including SOPs, training programs, and governance models.Lead migration feasibility studies and risk assessments.

Stakeholder & Client Management

Act as a single point of contact (SPOC) for senior leadership and external clients.Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Compliance, and Product teams, to drive operational excellence.Provide regular business reviews, operational reports, and strategic insights to stakeholders.

People Leadership & Development

Mentor, coach, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.Implement talent development programs, succession planning, and career growth initiatives.Drive employee engagement, motivation, and retention strategies to ensure a stable workforce.

Required Skills & Experience

Domain Expertise

✔ 12+ years of experience in US Life & Annuities operations, including New Business, Policy Administration, Claims, Underwriting Support, or Customer Service.
✔ Strong understanding of insurance regulations (NAIC, DOL, SEC, FINRA, etc.), compliance, and industry best practices.
✔ Expertise in handling annuities (Fixed, Variable, Indexed, SPIA), term life, whole life, and universal life policies.

Leadership & People Management

✔ Experience managing large teams (100+ FTEs) across multiple locations.
✔ Proven ability to motivate, mentor, and develop teams in a high-performance environment.
✔ Experience in handling complex workforce planning, staffing, and performance management.

Migration & Transition Expertise

✔ Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end transitions of insurance processes.
✔ Ability to assess process feasibility, create migration roadmaps, and ensure seamless execution.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

✔ Strong ability to manage US-based clients, insurance carriers, and senior leadership teams.
✔ Experience in conducting business reviews, governance meetings, and driving customer satisfaction.

Technical & Analytical Skills
✔ Strong data-driven mindset with experience in reporting, analytics, and performance dashboards.
