Job Description:

In this role as Group Manager I - TDS Operations, you will be accountable for overseeing the exception and investigation processes of Swift-based payments. You will lead a team of Officers/Analysts/Specialists in the GPDO Payment Investigation Helpdesk, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with regulatory standards, and the delivery of exceptional client service. This leadership role requires deep expertise in international payment systems, particularly SWIFT. You will provide guidance, leadership, coaching and development to ensure operational results and colleague development objectives are achieved for your team.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management:

Oversee the daily SWIFT investigations team in delivering exceptional helpdesk service and investigative support for TD Bank domestic and global wire transactions to resolve complex cases for both retail and institutional clients.Serve as the escalation point for complex client issues, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.Manage workflows, resources, and operational schedules to maintain optimal performance.Identify and respond to customer, industry, and regulatory changes related to wire payments and establish action plans to address issues and priorities.Monitor production, service, and control standards against overall GPDO objectives.Build strong relationships, actively engaging stakeholders within the Bank and broader industry.Continuously assess operational processes for efficiency and identify areas for improvement, such as automation or enhanced workflow tools.Collaborate with IT and other relevant departments to implement system enhancements, new SWIFT message types (ISO 20022), and other payment infrastructure upgrades.Monitor industry developments to ensure the team is using the most up-to-date systems and processes.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of payment investigation professionals.Coach and train colleagues to develop advanced investigation capabilities and ensure investigation cases are handled according to established internal and industry service standards.Grow team expertise to align with GPDO direction; assess team skills and capabilities and continually look for ways to provide and enhance team performance.Manage employees in compliance with all human resources policies, procedures, and guidelines of conduct.Support an environment where the team freely escalates performance and production challenges, and colleagues feel empowered to openly share new and innovative ideas.

Risk and Compliance Management:

Ensure all operations comply with regulatory requirements, including AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) guidelines.Collaborate with the Risk and Compliance teams to implement and monitor controls for fraud detection, sanctions screening, and other regulatory requirements.Identify operational risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, maintaining strict adherence to operational standards.

Qualifications

5+ years Payments related management with a focus on SWIFT paymentsProven leadership skills in managing and developing operational teams.Undergraduate Business or Finance degree preferred.Strong understanding of SWIFT message formats and the payment lifecycle, SWIFT certification preferred.Familiarity with Fedwire, ACH, CHIPS, Intellitracs, IDAPS, WPS, IPS, WBB, Payment Message GatewayAdvanced knowledge of ISO20022, CBPR+Advanced knowledge of MS suite of applications
