Classification: Part-time – 20 hours/week – Monday to Friday

                          Summer Day camp, and school breaks full time hours.

Location: In person- 736 W. Main Street  Lexington, KY 40508

Job Type: Part-time Monday to Friday

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Job Focus:

To plan, implement, supervise and evaluate activities provided within specific program areas, such as education, career development, sports, fitness and recreation, character/leadership development and health/life skills.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Prepare Youth for Success _Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:Promote and stimulate program participationRegister new members and participate in their club orientation processProvide guidance and role modeling to membersProgram Development and Implementation _Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitorsGreet new arrivals and introduce to other membersMonitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the Main Street Club and satellite sites at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports and collect information necessary for the compilation of statisticsEnsure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members primarily in games room, gymnasium, and other areas and extension sites as neededClean designated program area after use on a daily basisSupervision of Children _Ensure a productive work environment by participating in staff meetingsEnforce rules and regulations in order to maintain disciplineOrganize, lead and provide interest in activities, such as arts and crafts, game room and gymParticipate in special programs and events as designated by supervisorRequired to drive a vehicleMaintain close daily contact with staff (professional and volunteer), and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; advise/counselMaintain contact with members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problemsProvide other services as required for the efficient functioning of The Salvation Army * Qualifications

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferredMust be at least 21 years of age or olderValid Kentucky State Driver’s LicensePrevious experience working with childrenTB Skin Test requiredCPR and First Aid Certification requiredWithin 60 days of hire: Mandatory youth development training as required by Child Care Licensing and Regulations
