Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Group Lead: Internal Communications. This senior level resource will lead efforts to improve CCBA’s success with their employee communication agenda. The successful applicant will be reporting into the Group Head: Strategic Communications and Corporate Reputation.

This role will own and lead employee communication across the business, building relationships with key internal customers and oversee and/or support specified corporate events for CCBA Group Office. They communicate credible, relevant and contextualised information to the right internal audience via the appropriate platforms, in order to drive message alignment across the business. They support and enrich the employee experience by planning and delivering relevant content to help promote awareness, engagement and a sense of connection to the organisation’s vision, values and culture.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Key Outputs and Accountabilities include, but not limited to:

Strategic Partnership: Act as a strategic partner for General Manager, HR, and Functional Heads to drive message alignment across the business.

Integrated Communication Plan: In collaboration with internal business partners, develop and execute an integrated engagement communication plan with clear Ways Of Work (WOW) and ensure timely execution across platforms.

Standardised Communication Practices: Standardise internal communication practices across CCBA regions and ensure alignment with external messaging.

Communication Subject Matter Expert: Provide consultation and coaching to internal communication teams and country leaders.

Communication that Drives Employee Engagement: Drive communication practices that foster high levels of employee engagement and deepen employees’ understanding of company strategy and performance.

Omni-channel Communication: Introduce and manage internal communication practices, ideas, and trends to enhance employee interaction through internal communication channels.

Salesforce Communication: Ensure a better-informed salesforce with targeted communication that supports their roles.

Employee Centric Communication: Improve employee understanding of performance challenges and their contribution to business success.

Employee Ambassadorship: Cultivate employees as brand ambassadors, representing the company internally and externally.

Continuous Improvement: Continuously measure and improve the effectiveness of communication efforts based on feedback and data.

 

Skills:

Excellent communicator and content creator with expertise in managing digital communication channels.

Ability to innovate and develop creative approaches to drive employee interaction and engagement.

Proficient in audience segmentation, tailoring messages and selecting the right channels to create an optimal communication mix.

Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to align communication strategies with business objectives.

Highly skilled in project management, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of communication initiatives.

Ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders and country leaders.

Exceptional written communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts into clear, concise content.

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications:

Degree in Journalism, Media, Communication, or Marketing (postgraduate degree preferred).

 

Experience:

10 to 12 years of experience in corporate communication, with exposure to employee communications, publications, intranet, and media.

Proficiency in using and managing digital communication tools and platforms

Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing communication teams.

Strong knowledge of global trends and best practices in internal communication, with the ability to apply them effectively within the organisation.
