SO WHAT’S THE GIG?

A Group Head Copywriter in a dynamic and diverse team of creatives that serve all aspects of the creative requirements for Distell’s regional portfolio of brands. Your gig will be to craft exceptional creative work that will help grow and nudge Distell’s portfolio of incredible brands forward with particular focus on digital excellence and platform best practice. 

No industry is better positioned to create innovative ideas and executions as that of the drinks industry and with the explosion of e-commerce and social media, it is an exciting time to be involved with this space.

As a unit within the Saatchi & Saatchi offering, The Power of One team of which you will be an associate, is designed to integrate the many facets of a campaign ask (Planning, Creative, PR, Analytics and Deployment) and our opportunity is to make this process as efficient and as beneficial to the idea as possible. You will be involved with all aspects of the journey of an idea from start to finish. The role specifically involves acting as a support to the Executive Creative Director (ECD) in the daily functioning and fulfilment of the responsibilities of the creative department.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Develop and execute outstanding work across ATL/BTL/Social and DigitalUnderstand the client’s strategy and business context, and always aim to do work that performs.Work closely with multi-discipline team members to generate concepts to fulfil the client’s briefWork collaboratively with planning and client service department under the direction of the ECDOn a daily basis, report and update the status of jobs and issues to the ECDPresent concepts (internally and to clients)Build strong collaborative relationship with the team, partners and clientsTimeous execution of work against scheduled deadlines by the traffic managerAccountable for checking all content, ensuring the highest standard of concept and executionWork on several campaigns at once, sometimes under pressure and often to tight deadlinesCast actors for TV, Content, Radio, and listening to voice and video auditionsVisit and assess locations for potential shootsWrite and brief production documents to the relevant production departmentsHave an opinion on the effectiveness of competitor advertising campaignsContribute to proactivity and innovative thinking on brands within the portfolioAssist with pitches, awards and new business presentations as requiredPush the idea and executional craft to make the work shineMentor junior/mid-level writers within the departmentAttend reviews and guide copy

Qualifications

Requirements / Experience / Skills

A tertiary qualification in Copywriting/AdvertisingMinimum 8 years experience as a Copywriter in an Advertising AgencyA command of all facets of writing for advertising (i.e. TTL/BTL, Social and Digital)A good command of the English language Venac is essential (verbal and written)Firm grasp of writing for channel with a special focus on social platformsStrong presentation skillsA proven track record and awarded integrated portfolioBeing able to craft clear, persuasive, original, highly creative and imaginative copyAn eye for detail and excellence
