Group Benefits Strategy Lead
We are currently seeking to grow our Group Benefits strategy team. This role reports to the Head of Group Benefits Strategy and Retail Segment. The Strategy team is responsible for leading the strategic planning and ongoing refinement process, supporting the Group Benefits leadership team in setting the business strategy, cultivating and evaluating M&A, partnership, and inorganic growth opportunities, supporting cross-enterprise strategic initiatives, and developing content for strategic updates to executive leadership and board of directors.
In the highly visible role of Group Benefits Strategy Lead, you will help develop the short and long-range plans for the Group Benefits business and partner across the organization to identify and develop the Group Benefits organization. In this role you will support the Head of Group Benefits Strategy, working closely with leaders from across the Strategy, Sales, Client Management, and Product Management to keep priorities, resources, and deliverables aligned and effective.
A successful candidate in this role is able to tackle broad and multifaceted business challenges, communicate effectively, and influence up, down, and across a broad and diverse organization. You will be required to utilize strategic frameworks to structure problem solving and identify solutions, build quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses of operational and financial data, leverage internal and external insights, and coordinate and influence across organizations to help support driving profitable growth.
In this role, you will:
Support the Head of Group Benefits Strategy and the Group Benefits Leadership Team to lead the annual and ongoing strategic planning process, and define a cohesive set of strategic imperatives, growth aspirations, and measures of successHelp develop the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for Group Benefits, working with enterprise teams on a 2030 visioning and planning initiativeSupport the ongoing socialization of Group Benefits’ strategy, business imperatives, and value proposition, including supporting CEO level and Board of Director updatesSupport exploration and assessment of any M&A, partnership, and inorganic opportunities, including working with the Group Benefits leadership team to perform due diligence and assess alignment with strategic imperatives (in collaboration with the corporate strategy and development team)You are:An excellent end-to-end generalist problem solverAble to build relationships, navigate the organization, and work well in cross-functional teamsAn effective and confident communicator, with an outstanding ability to apply quantitative analytical approaches and develop clear recommendations for senior managementA self-starter able who is to work independently and multi-task, with excellent prioritization skills and a clear focus on resultsYou have:7+ years relevant work experienceBachelor’s degree with strong academic performance and demonstrated leadership ability; MBA preferred, but not requiredStrategy consulting, business management or operational experience within a financial services or management consulting firmStrong financial and analytical acumen with business experience in a functional areaStrong written and verbal communication skills, and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPointYou will:Be exposed to and influence the agendas of Guardian senior executivesDevelop expertise in a variety of functions across the Group Benefits businessGain exposure to other roles and lines of business in the companyLocation and Work Arrangement:New York City (Hudson Yards) or Boston, MAHybrid work arrangement: Minimum three days per week in your local Guardian OfficeSalary Range:
$116,350.00 - $191,155.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
