Requirements:
SAIPA registered accounting graduate. Minimum of 15 years working experience as a bookkeeper/accountant. Strong team leader with experience managing a team of people. Advanced Excel skills, experience with Sage Evolution an advantage. Manager who is prepared to lead by example. Responsibilities, but not limited to:
Management of a team of bookkeepers (junior and senior) who oversee full monthly bookkeeping for multiple entities. Leading, mentoring & supporting staff with all of the above responsibilities including preparation of management accounts for certain group entities. Monitoring of progress of monthly management account to ensure that group reporting deadlines are achieved. Monitoring of control account reconciliations for all entities within the group, resolving any issue on a timeous basis and reporting of any shortages as soon as discovered. Review of monthly management accounts prepared by bookkeeping staff and presentation of these for monthly meetings with Shareholders/store management. Resolution of SARS queries relating to VAT and EMP returns for group entities. Joint administrator on group banking facilities. Review and presentation of the company's monthly management account with budget v actual analysis and explanation of variances. Annual budget preparation for presentation. Covering of functions performed by bookkeeping staff when bookkeeping staff are on leave. Annual staff appraisal and management of staff leave. Maintenance of group company control sheet containing key info for all group entities. IT and system management and development (Accounting and reporting software).
