Groundskeeper
**Job Title** Groundskeeper **Job Description Summary** Perform tasks related to maintaining and improving the Facility grounds. **Job Description** RESPONSIBILITIES · Plant, trim, spray, mow, weed, fertilize, sweep, rake, cultivate, dig, water, shovel or plow snow, remove ice, spread salt and/or sand, and other related functions of a groundskeeper with directions from the Grounds Manager. · Operate and maintain various types of equipment, including power mowers, saws, edger, and shears, and perform light maintenance. · Operate light or medium weight trucks to pick up and deliver materials and supplies. · Operate tractors and attachments used to maintain grounds as needed. · Load and unload furniture and other materials, transport to designated locations, utilizing a variety of equipment as needed. · Prepare athletic fields for special events. · Assist in snow removal when needed. · Work as directed by the Grounds Manager. · Remain up-to-date and informed as to current practices of job-related functions. · Work with other people that may be contacted in an agreeable manner. · Cooperate with other people within the department and other department personnel in completing assigned tasks. · Display the necessary initiative and dependability to work alone or in groups. · Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with department policies and procedures. · Attend department meetings as required. · Participate in fire and disaster programs as directed. · Observe all departmental policies and procedures. · Police campus grounds and empty garbage cans as needed · Assist in irrigation repair · All other tasks as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS · Good health with adequate strength and endurance to perform the work described in various types of weather. · Ability to use grounds maintenance tools and equipment as required. · Ability to follow oral and written instructions. · Ability to maintain effective relations with the customers, supervisor and fellow employees. · Ability to follow and apply safe practices for job assignments and equipment used. · Ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds. · Eighteen (18) years of age or older. · Willing to be trained as required C&W Services is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative​ Action employer.
