Class Summary
Job Description
The Grounds Maintenance Associate I and II positions will be providing customer service, landscaping and janitorial duties, as well as litter collection. This role will also be responsible for performing minor repairs, routine maintenance of basic equipment, as well as maintenance on buildings, grounds and aquatic centers.
Essential Duties
+ Maintaining natural turf and synthetic turf athletic fields
+ Maintaining baseball infield, such as dragging infields, changing home plates, and base anchors
+ Operating the irrigation systems and performing minor repairs
+ Maintaining passive areas
+ Operating tractors and commercial zero turn mowers
+ Operating small engine equipment such as backpack blowers, edgers and string trimmers
+ Inspecting Park assets including playgrounds for safety standards
+ Applying the herbicides, fertilizers, pre-emergents, post-emergents, playground mulch, and mulching islands
+ Performing equipment preventative maintenance
+ Maintaining and repairing chain link fencing and gates
Public Speaking Duties
+ Interacting with Youth Athletic Associations and park users
+ Reporting incidents following proper chain of command
+ Providing maintenance reports
Other Job Requirements/Information
+ This job may require on call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends and/or holidays
Grade
+ Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED AND
+ Two years of ground maintenance experience (for Ground Maintenance Associate I)
+ An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
+ Valid driver's license (for Ground Maintenance Associate II)
