The Grounds Keeping Specialist is a full-time position at the Gatlinburg SkyPark. The Grounds Keeping Specialist is responsible for the general upkeep of the SkyPark’s grounds. Responsibilities Job Summary: As a member of our Grounds maintenance Team, you will be responsible for the general upkeep of the SkyPark’s grounds. This will include responsibilities such as mowing / trimming the grass, picking up litter, walkway, step repair, landscaping duties, fence repair, and other responsibilities as needed. You are responsible for the first impression guests and team members get when they first reach the resort grounds. This is a full-time position. Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to,): Cut and trim grass. Utilize hand tools and landscaping maintenance equipment to maintain and improve the appearance of the park grounds. Maintain and enhance park cleanliness Apply fertilizer to the ground to enhance growth. Pick up litter around the park. Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger. Trim shrubs and pull weeds. Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping. Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed. Responsible for any new plantings on the property. Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer. Perform daily checks and maintenance on park elements, such as the water feature Must work you schedule Additional responsibilities as assigned by your manager Qualifications Required Qualifications (knowledge, skills, certifications, education, etc) Must be at least 18. Must have a valid Driver’s License. You have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications (knowledge, skills, certifications, education, etc) Grounds Maintenance experience is helpful but not required. You enjoy being outside You can be flexible with interruptions, changes, and unexpected events. You are energetic and personable You have problem solving skills You maintain a positive attitude Must adhere to policies and procedures in the GSLP Handbook Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for 6-8 hours at a time Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs Work Environment: This is an oudoor position with exposure to the elements at times. Your daily assignments will be in various locations around the property. Position type and expected hours of work: This position is full-time, year-round day and weekend position. Overtime may or may not be available Travel: Travel may be necessary to aquire supplies or equipment necessary to complete a job assignment Additional Questions: Can minors work in this position?
