Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer in the Office of the Executive Chair of Psychiatry, the Grants Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day support of all projects, grants, contracts and other restricted accounts and related functions associated with research, sponsored programs, and restricted funds activities in Psychiatry, as assigned. The primary responsibility of the Grants Administrator is pre-award and post-award administration of grants, contracts and other restricted funds. The Grants Administrator also ensures sponsored research activities are in compliance with the policies and procedures of Rutgers University and federal, state, foundation, corporate and other agencies.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assists in the submission of grant and contract proposals to federal, state, foundation, corporate and other sponsors. Provides grant application guidance to faculty, administrators and staff. Prepares the proposal budget in collaboration with the Principal Investigators. Assists with the development of internal policies and procedures regarding grant and contract proposals and applications. Works closely with ORSP and Research Financial Services (RFS). Provides budget status reports, detailed transaction reports, projections and other reports to the Principal Investigators, CAO and department administrators, Center Directors and Chairs. Reconciles and ensures expenditures charged to Project Accounts are accurate. Submits and/or reviews and approves MarketPlace requisitions charged to restricted accounts. Ensures grants and other restricted accounts are not over-expended. Ensures the expenditures are allowable and appropriate. Closely monitors salaries charged to restricted accounts.
