Key Responsibilities:

Grants Acquisition Manager

Location: Tbilisi

Duration: 2 years (with 6 month probation period) 

Time frame: Full time (40 hours per week), Monday- Friday

Purpose of the position:

The Grants Acquisition Manager at World Vision Georgia plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission to improve child well-being by securing strategic resources and developing high-quality grants. This position focuses on enhancing the quality and sustainability of programming by ensuring that grant proposals align with World Vision’s Child Well-being Framework and comply with WVI and donor standards.

The manager is responsible for identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create compelling proposals, and ensuring the smooth transition of awarded grants to implementation.

 Additionally, the role works closely with the MEAL and Programme teams to leverage data for proposal development and leads future planning and forecasting efforts. As the primary liaison for donor relations, the Grants Acquisition Manager is essential to building strong external partnerships and ensuring effective grant management.

Major Responsibilities:  

GAM Strategy and Grant Acquisition

Lead Strategy Development: Develop and execute the Grants Acquisition and Management (GAM) strategy, ensuring it aligns with World Vision Georgia's priorities and World Vision International’s global standards and practices.Identify and Pursue Opportunities: Proactively identify, track, and pursue grant/PNS funding opportunities, creating a robust pipeline of potential donors, including WV Support Offices (SOs), to ensure long-term resource sustainability.Cross-functional Leadership: Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Programme, MEAL, Finance, and other relevant departments, to design and develop high-quality, competitive grant proposals.Proposal Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of proposal development, from go-no-go,  concept development to submission, ensuring adherence to donor requirements, World Vision International policies, and industry best practices.MEERO Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with MEERO RDU, effectively update WVG funding- related information on time (GHT, etc.).Collaboration for Review: Facilitate proposal review processes, working closely with internal stakeholders and technical experts to ensure alignment and high standards.Monitor Donor Trends: Regularly monitor and analyze donor trends, funding landscapes, and strategic priorities, adjusting the GAM strategy as needed to respond to emerging opportunities.Grant Performance Tracking: Support the program team in maintaining the Grants Health Tracker, ensuring accurate, up-to-date reporting and tracking of grant performance.Data-Driven Proposals: Collaborate closely with MEAL teams to leverage analytical data in crafting evidence-based, compelling grant proposals.

External Engagement, Partnership, and Pre-positioning

Strategic Relationship Building: Support the Programme Director in developing and strengthening high-impact relationships with institutional donors, government agencies, local NGOs, UN bodies, private sector partners, and international organizations. Enhance World Vision Georgia’s positioning for future funding and collaborative opportunities.Visibility and Representation: Assist the Programme Director in representing World Vision Georgia in key networks, strategic forums, and coordination bodies. Contribute to increasing the organization’s visibility and exploring new partnership opportunities aligned with strategic goals.Innovative Co-Creation and Collaboration: Lead co-creation efforts with donors and stakeholders to identify and shape future programming opportunities. Utilize innovative approaches to align with donor priorities and explore new funding models, ensuring proposals are well-positioned.Donor Landscape Analysis: Conduct comprehensive donor landscape analysis to support GAM business planning and projections. Provide detailed reports to the Programme Director, identifying funding trends, emerging sectors, and new opportunities to keep World Vision Georgia agile and competitive.Consortia and Strategic Alliances: Develop and manage consortia and strategic alliances to position World Vision Georgia for large-scale, multi-sectoral funding opportunities.Digital and Innovative Engagement: Utilize digital tools and innovative strategies for donor engagement, including virtual presentations and interactive proposal workshops, to enhance real-time interactions and stay ahead of evolving donor practices.

Internal Capacity Building

Capacity Development: Contribute to building the capacity of World Vision Georgia staff in key areas such as external communication, partnerships, and donor engagement. Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance staff skills and understanding of effective external relations and resource mobilization strategies.Support Programme and MEAL Teams: Collaborate with the Programme and MEAL teams to strengthen their comprehension of donor requirements, proposal development processes, and quality standards. Provide targeted support and guidance to ensure that teams are equipped to meet donor expectations and produce high-quality proposals.

Supporting Communications, Local Marketing, and Fundraising

Collaborate with the communications team to support local marketing and fundraising efforts, ensuring that grant projects are promoted effectively.Assist in the development of communication materials, success stories, and donor reports that highlight the impact of grant-funded programs.Contribute to the design of fundraising campaigns and initiatives that align with grant acquisition strategies.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in international development, social sciences, economics and other related disciplines;5-year experience in international development, external engagement, grant acquisition and/or grant management;Proven track record in working for international development organizations;Working experience with major donors – EU, USAID, SIDA, ADA, etc.;Proven experience of leading successful grant applications;Solid undestanding of various Funding channels (EU; USAID, SIDA, etc.);Understanding of development principles and program management cycle;Demonstrated expertise in writing compelling grant proposals that align with funders’ priorities and requirements;Knowledge and experience in child and adult safeguarding will be an asset;Proposal Pro or similar specialized training certificate will be an asset.

Required Skills:

Strong ability to identify potential funding opportunities and conduct thorough research on potential grant sources;Confident communicator and knowledgeable spokesperson with donors, members, peer NGOs, etc.;Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to various stakeholders;Strong networking and partnership building skills;Strong facilitation, coordination skills;Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate challenges related to grant acquisition and management;Highly organised team player with a pro-active and flexible work style;Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to work under pressure;Commitment to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement.

Language requirements:

Advanced (Professional) proficiency in English (especially reading and writing) and good report writing skills;Proficiency in Georgian (especially speaking).
