Grant & Per Diem Coordinator/Liaison

Location: William Booth Center (811 Maynard Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Pay: $33.50/hour

Status: Regular Full-Time/Non-Exempt

The Grant & Per Diem (GPD) Coordinator/Liaison is responsible for the coordination and oversight of intakes and referrals for the William Booth Center’s (WBC) programs and activities in partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This position will work to ensure that these programs and activities are consistent with the mission and goals of The Salvation Army and WBC, as well as the expectations of the VA Grant & Per Diem Program, also known as the Veterans’ Transitional Program (VTP), as stated in the contract. This position will contribute to an enriched and robust quality of life for veteran clientele of WBC, as well as enhance their opportunities for self-sufficiency. The GPD Coordinator/Liaison will receive daily supervision from the Assistant Director of WBC along with direct consultation on complex matters.

Duties & Responsibilities Process and screen incoming referrals for the GDP to ensure alignment with eligibility criteria and program requirements. Work with the front desk staff to ensure that they are well-informed and prepared for upcoming intakes. Assist with the processing of intakes as needed. Ensure that Case Managers have an introductory meeting with new clients and complete their portion of the intake process. Monitor and report the capacity levels of the GDP to the Assistant Director of WBC. Develop and maintain a professional relationship with the VA Liaison and the rest of the VA program. Serve as the point of contact for the VA Liaison for items outside of case management, e.g. intakes/referrals. Conduct monthly reports for the VA Liaison and for Seattle Social Services’ Finance team. Contribute to quarterly and annual audits. Contribute information to be included in weekly case conference meetings. Assist Case Managers with additional tasks as determined by the Assistant Director of WBC. Perform other administrative and operational functions as requested. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year of experience working with homeless veterans. Experience with and knowledge of veterans’ services offered at the VA and in the community. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness in a shelter/residential program preferred.

Retirement Plans:  Employer-funded Money Purchase Pension Plan (Defined Contribution Plan) 50% vested at five years eligible service time. Plus, an employee-funded voluntary 403(b) option. 

Parental Leave:  The benefit is 40 hours of Paid Leave for qualifying events. 

Sick Leave:  12 days of Sick Leave annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after three months’ service time.  

Paid Vacation: 

Two weeks annually, accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions. Four weeks annually, accruing from day one, for exempt positions. Accrued vacation is eligible for use after six months’ service time.

Paid Holidays:  13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year
