Grant Accountant
Description We are in search of a Grant Accountant to become part of our team in the Non-Profit sector, based in Los Angeles, California. As a Grant Accountant, your role will encompass the management of the complete grant lifecycle, from pre-award to post-award, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and foundation grant regulations, and supporting the finance, legal, and program teams in managing and optimizing grant spending. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. This position is REMOTE but must be able to work Pacific Standard Time. Responsibilities • Manage the entire grant lifecycle, focusing on efficient funding approval, implementation, and post-award closeout. • Work in collaboration with program managers, grant writers, and external stakeholders to formulate budgets and financial forecasts for grant applications. • Implement effective tracking mechanisms for grant funds, implementation timelines, and deliverables. • Prepare and submit precise financial reports to meet funder requirements and milestones. • Keep comprehensive records of expenditures and verify their alignment with grant budgets. • Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and foundation grant regulations, including OMB Uniform Guidance and other relevant compliance standards. • Formulate, manage, and monitor grant budgets, confirming cost allocations are suitable and compliant with funding guidelines. • Conduct variance analyses to pinpoint under or over-utilization of funds and suggest recommendations to maximize grant spending. • Provide support for internal and external audits by maintaining up-to-date documentation, reconciliations, and financial records. • Respond promptly to auditor queries and implement recommendations as necessary. • Collaborate with the finance, legal, and program teams to facilitate seamless grants management and compliance. • Cooperate with other accountants or consultants to resolve accounting discrepancies and enhance reporting processes. Requirements Requirements: • Proficiency in using Abila MIP accounting software • Experience with various Accounting Software Systems • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services • Knowledge of creating and managing Banner Ads • Ability to utilize Bloomberg Terminal effectively • Strong grasp of all Accounting Functions • Proven experience in Auditing • Understanding of Budget Processes in a non-profit setting • Skills in Capital Management • Experience in handling Cash Activity in an accounting role Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
