Summary: This position is responsible and accountable for all operations surrounding the daily corn procurement at a Green Plains biorefinery. The position will manage and execute marketing strategies for corn origination while also managing day-to-day logistics. The position is also required to work with leadership to build and strengthen customer relationships.
Responsibilities
Work with management to maximize plant profitability by implementing effective risk management strategies and tools with respect to origination, marketing, sales, and transportation Oversee the successful acquisition of daily corn grind Negotiate the purchase of assigned commodities Identify, develop, and manage strong relationships with customers and suppliers Have an unwavering commitment to customer-service Manage trading positions, inventories, and forward positions to minimize risk and maximize profitability Analyze markets, identify market trends, and optimize positions to maximize profitability Possess understanding of the Chicago Board of Trade and collaborate with leadership on price movements and trends, USDA reports, and future projections Work with leadership to understand the grain grading and weighing functions according to USDA and state specificationsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree or formal training in agricultural commodity trading/position Zero to four (0-4) years of related experience preferred Physical agricultural products trading, transportation / shipping and arbitrage experience is preferred Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and most importantly the ability to work well in diverse teams Outstanding negotiation, analytical, and business skills Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize workloads Independent worker, self-motivated, high sense of urgency Maintain positive professional relationships, both internal and external Demonstrated business acumen and leadership skillsCompany Description
