Shifts/Hours: Our RNs work a rotating 12-hour schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor.

Graduate Nurses must be eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before beginning this role OR ability to start with TPP and must obtain license within 6 months amount of time of beginning position. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience and education. 

UPMC McKeesport Unit Descriptions: 

3M Oncology- The unit population consists of MedSurg patients as well as hospice patients. The nurse will be expected to provide end-of-life care to ensure the final days of the patient’s life are comfortable.

2M Medical Rehab– 2 Mansfield is a rehabilitation nursing unit focusing on the care of patient’s adult adolescent through geriatric years who require intensive rehabilitation to reach maximum functional status.4M CDU/Med Surg

4M Surgical Unit– is an observation and inpatient unit focusing on the care of patients, adolescent through geriatric years.

5M Step down- High Acuity-The patient population on the Stepdown unit typically require increased care from MedSurg units, but less than ICU. These patients are critically ill but stable at that time. 

Detox– McKeesport detoxification services can consist of medically managed detox or short-term residential rehabilitation. The nurse provides care for either course of action.

Emergency Department– The ED is a non-age-specific unit that provides care for levels of acuity ranging from chest pain or abdominal pain to stroke, gunshot wounds, or stabbings. This is a face-paced unit that requires great focus and time-management.

Psych- Also known as the Behavioral Health Unit, the nurse cares for patients with a new onset of psychiatric symptoms, or an exacerbation of symptoms, requiring inpatient behavioral healthcare. This is a large 37-bed unit.
