Job Description

We have an opportunity across the UK for a graduate to work within our Buildings and Places team, to help develop and deliver health & safety solutions to a range of clients in the UK and around the world. The roles can be based in any of our UK offices within our Health and Safety Consulting Team.

AECOM provides health & safety services to a variety of clients in both the public and private sector, and to organisations in both construction and non-construction industries including:

The Health & Safety Graduate will utilise and adapt their technical and soft skills to our established Health and Safety Consulting approach.

Job Responsibilities

Providing Health & Safety Consultancy Services as directed including general and specific H&S and construction advice including:

Providing advice and assistance to clients, designers and contractors in relation to their duties under the CDM RegulationsProviding advice and challenge to design teams to ensure safety in design is applied throughout design stageCarry out workplace inspections & auditsCarrying cut construction site health & safety auditsReviewing and advising on risk assessment and method statementsProviding advice and assistance to principal contracting organisationsUndertaking the role of principal designer on projects where AECOM are leading designUndertaking pro-active and reactive audits and reviewsProviding point of contact for client(s) with regard to health and safety mattersFacilitating workshops and training sessionsEnsuring AECOM QA and Health and Safety responsibilities are discharged Producing comprehensive written reports, notes of meetings, presentationsLeading by example in application of AECOM’s Safeguarding value and Safety for Life behaviours

ADVANCE focuses on providing the necessary tools to navigate your early career with focus on EDI, social value, wellbeing, career development and planning, professional skills, brand awareness and understanding AECOM processes. Delivered in person and online you’ll meet and work with senior leaders during the programme.

QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree (min 2.2 or equivalent) in a health & safety, construction or design discipline.NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable)

Ability to demonstrate logical reasoning and analytical thinkingEffective decision making with strong verbal and written communicationStrong organisational, problem solving and time management skillsAble to produce auditable outputs with clear record of error checking and demonstration of validity in resultsAbility to assimilate, analyse and clearly communicate informationStrong interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to work with a wide range of Clients and ConsultantsAble to work effectively within a team environment and meet or exceed client expectations Adaptable and can modify the approach to work to suit the needs of the client or project Able to negotiate with and influence third partiesFull UK driving licence
