The Institute for Physical Science and Technology is home to UMDs most interdisciplinary graduateprograms AMSC Biophysics BIPH and Chemical Physics CHPH The BIPH ampamp CHPH Graduate Assistant will Support the Biophysics ampamp Chemical Physics coordinator and program directors by providing outstanding customer service to Biophysics and Chemical Physics students faculty and prospective students Plan and execute all aspects of weekly Biophysics seminar including ordering refreshments setting up and cleaning up Must be available on Mondays from 330 530 pm during the Fall and Spring semesters Represent IPST in a professional and knowledgeable manner at events as well as by phone email and in person contact Provide information about program requirementsprocedures to current students and admissions requirementsprocedures to prospective students Assist with recruitment other events and marketing initiatives Assist with BIPH CHPH admissions process Assist with the organization and planning of committee advisory meetings academic advising and rotation presentations Assist with updating reports presentations documents and webpages etc Perform clerical tasks such as creating documents printing filing etc Perform other related duties as assigned During events hands on work such as setup and clean up will be requiredThis is a 10 hour per week assistantship that begins in August and ends in May
