GPO Governance - Procurement Senior Specialist

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
 

The purpose of this role is to support and enhance the strategic operations of the Technology, Supplier Management, and Governance (TSG) Team within SAP’s Global Procurement Organization (GPO). The role focuses on maintaining governance excellence, improving procurement processes, and ensuring alignment with global policies and best practices. By driving process efficiency, managing critical documentation, and resolving quality issues, this position directly contributes to the overall success and compliance of procurement activities.

 

ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY, SUPPLIER MGMT. & GOVERNANCE (TSG) TEAM
 

The TSG Team (Technology, Supplier Management, and Governance) is the driving force behind the success of SAP’s Global Procurement Organization (GPO). As the heart of the GPO, TSG is committed to ensuring compliance, efficiency, and innovation across procurement processes, policies, and systems. Our team collaborates across functions to manage risks, enhance supplier management, and integrate cutting-edge technology into procurement operations. EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
 

1. Governance & Policy Management:

Ensure continuous and consistent maintenance of SAP’s Global Procurement Policies and Guidelines. Conduct regular reviews of guidelines and working instructions, aligning them with best practices and evolving business needs. Develop and implement concepts to improve processes and policies for the GPO.


2. Process Efficiency & Best Practices:

Identify opportunities to increase process efficiency across the GPO. Compare existing processes, guidelines, and instructions against best practices and implement improvements.


3. Quality Assurance & Issue Resolution:

Identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues related to procurement processes and documentation. Implement preventative measures to ensure ongoing quality and consistency.


4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with internal stakeholders to streamline workflows and enhance the overall efficiency of procurement operations. Drive initiatives that integrate technology, such as AI-driven procurement tools, to enhance decision-making and process optimization.


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
 

Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills; ability to handle complex tasks with precision. Knowledge: Familiarity with procurement technologies is a plus. Mindset: A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach to work, with a passion for driving excellence. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.


WORK EXPERIENCE
 

 3+ years’ proven experience in procurement, governance, or process improvement roles, consulting background is a plus.
