Our Corporate Relations (CR) team are reputation guides, shaping and protecting the future of our business and much-loved brands. With the ambition to become one of the most trusted and respected consumer goods companies in the world, our CR team act as the link to our external partners, handling critical relationships with the outside world including the press and media, investors and government organisations, as well as NGOs and our many partners.
Operating across different markets, brands, and business areas including Corporate Communications, Policy and ESG, we collaborate with people all around the world. Purpose of role.
As the Public Policy Senior Manager, you will monitor and analyze legislation and regulatory developments that may represent potential risks and opportunities for Diageo. This role will involve a deep understanding of the federal government, federal agencies, and congress processes and will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure that our policy positions are aligned with our business objectives. The Public Policy Senior Manager will be a key advisor on public policy issues and advocacy.

As a Public Policy Senior Manager at Diageo, you will:
Provide counsel to the Director of Corporate Relations and Tequila and the Head of Corporate Relations Legal, and other areas on government legislation, regulations, and public policy matters.Establish, maintain, and enhance positive relations with external audiences, including trade associations, shareholders, and government.Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at local, state, and federal levels.Be on top of changes in the government that can influence the regulatory environment and anticipate potential risks and opportunities for Diageo.Provide advice on policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulations.Work closely with other areas (Marketing, Legal, Commercial, among others) to ensure alignment on policy priorities and strategies.Support our SoP team for our “In market company (IMC) business” in their actions to promote Diageo’s positive drinking agenda.Leadership

Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, law, or a related field.3+ years of experience in public affairs/ corporate relations, preferably in FMCG company or government body.Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process.Excellent analytical and research skills.Knowledge and experience in the alcohol industry is an asset.Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.Deep personal accountability for great performanceOutstanding ability to build and maintain genuine relationships based on mutual trust & respect.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.English and Spanish proficiency (written and spoken).Presentation skills in Spanish and English.
