The Policy & Government Relations (PGR) team - responsible for the Firm’s federal and state government relations strategies and public policy engagement - is seeking a Government Relations Specialist based in Washington, DC.
PGR’s core functions:
Promote and protect the Firm's business interests by engaging policymakers and other policy influencersCollaborate with stakeholders across the Firm to drive the development of public policy positions and support client engagementsIdentify and conduct analyses on trending legislative, regulatory, and public policy issues that may impact the Firm and its clientsBuild and maintain relationships with members of Congress, administration officials, and key policy influencers (e.g., think tanks, industry associations)Work You’ll Do
Support federal government relations and public policy teams by working on a portfolio of legislative and regulatory initiatives and reporting on political and policy developmentsDevelop relationships with external stakeholders in Congress and the AdministrationCollaborate and support federal advocacy related to Deloitte’s policy prioritiesConduct research, support analysis, and contribute to team projects, deliverables, and presentations on a diverse range of legislative and policy topicsDevelop briefing materials for internal stakeholders on legislative and regulatory issuesDevelop and drive advocacy and outreach strategies before Congress on issues important to the businessEngage with industry associations and third-party coalitions on relevant issuesThe successful candidate will possess:
Proven ability to self-direct work and work as part of a team in a dynamic, cross-functional environmentAn ability to develop and maintain political relationshipsAn understanding of the legislative and regulatory processStrong legislative analysis skillsStrong presentation and communication skillsExcellent writing and research skillsStrong writing, presentation, and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in Congress, regulatory agencies, trade associations, government affairs organizations, policy research organizations, or public policy organizationsPrior experience in a role with extensive writing, research, and legislative analysis responsibilitiesRequired Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience in the legislative, policy, or related fieldsUnderstanding of the legislative, regulatory, and policymaking processesBachelor’s DegreeMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the futureAbility to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveFor individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Jersey City NJ, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York state, Washington State, and Washington, DC, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Washington DC and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $120,300 to $200,600.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
