Role at a Glance We are looking for an experienced government affairs professional to join our team. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance our company’s relationship with government entities and regulatory bodies. You will work closely with our leadership team to influence public policy outcomes and secure favorable legislative and regulatory environments to support our business objectives. What you will do + Strategy Development: + Develop and execute comprehensive government relations strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives. + Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the robotics and technology sectors. + Advocacy and Engagement: + Build and maintain strong relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and industry leaders. + Represent the company at government meetings, public forums, and industry events. + Advocate for policies and regulations that support the growth and innovation of the robotics industry. + Policy Analysis: + Conduct research and analysis on policy issues affecting the company. + Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. + Identify potential risks and opportunities related to government legislation and regulations. + Partnerships and Collaboration: + Collaborate with industry associations and other stakeholders to advance shared interests. + Facilitate partnerships with academic institutions, government agencies, and research organizations. + Manage Gecko’s external lobbying advisors + Compliance: + Ensure the company adheres to all applicable laws and regulations. + Work with legal and compliance teams to manage regulatory requirements and reporting obligations About You Required Skills + Experience working on Capitol Hill for a member with a national security portfolio or relevant committee. Additional experience working in industry is preferred. + Minimum of 7 years of experience in government relations, public policy, or a related field, preferably within the technology or robotics sector. + Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes at the local, state, and federal levels. + Proven track record of effective advocacy and relationship-building with government officials and policymakers. + Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Familiarity with emerging trends and challenges in the robotics industry. Where a candidate falls in the range will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location.
