Government Consulting Senior Analyst – Financial

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Government Human Service Consultant (GHSC) – Financial team at Mercer. This role can be based in Minneapolis, Atlanta, or Phoenix, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Medicaid is a government-sponsored health insurance program in the United States designed to provide healthcare coverage to low-income individuals and families. As a consulting firm specializing in Medicaid, Mercer’s GHSC team assists state governments in optimizing their Medicaid programs. Our team plays a vital role in managing and analyzing Medicaid claims data to enhance patient access to care, improve cost efficiency, and elevate the quality of services provided to these individuals.

We will count on you to:

Perform comprehensive analysis of health care data using spreadsheet and database management software.Analyze and interpret various types of health care data including claims data, encounter data, and financial reports.Assist in the development of client communications, proposals, reports, spreadsheets, and presentationsAssist in researching, strategizing, and implementing client solutionsGain an understanding of health care delivery systems, specifically government-sponsored health programs, such as Medicaid and MedicareWork in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic consulting environment with colleagues across all organizational levels to meet and exceed client demands and deadlinesCollaborate with a focused group of colleagues on smaller team-based assignments with opportunities to participate in larger scale client and industry projects.

What you need to have: 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related1-3 years of industry or related experienceAbility to work both independently and in a dynamic team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demandsExcellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to drive results and take initiative.Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skillsWorking knowledge of the MS Office suite – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,000 to $108,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
