Job Purpose Role
The IT Governance and IT Strategy Manager plays a key role in driving our IT Strategy and our IT Risk Management reporting. This position requires a keen understanding of IT systems, IT Governance principles, and regulatory requirements including the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). In this role, you will be responsible for updating the IT Strategy of AZ Direct and ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will manage information risks in line with our risk appetite and provide regular reporting to different stakeholders. The role reports to the CIO.
IT Governance and IT Strategy Manager is responsible for:
IT Strategy and Steering: Process owner for IT Strategy updates, orchestration of quarterly IT Steering Board (ITSB) meetings with Allianz Group and regular reporting on the various KPIs with a focus on IT processes (Internal and Group Reporting). Information Domain/ Process Repository: Process owner for process inventory repository, facilitate update process with different business units and in alignment with other teams contributing to the information domain of AZ Direct (Applications, Infrastructure, Providers) Control Framework and Information Risks: Monitor and ensure quality of internal controls, facilitate fieldwork during internal or external audits, support business owners in logging information risks and perform annual IT compliance self-assessment of Allianz Direct according to their inherent risk. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments such as TPRM, Information Security, Risk Management and business units to ensure synergy and effective governance.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 3-5 years in insurance, financial sectors, or relevant businesses, with experience in IT risk management and governance frameworks. Hands-on experience with IT risk policies, strategy development, control testing, scenario analysis, and risk reporting. Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., BaFin) is beneficial. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills for consulting with 1st Line of Defense and collaborating internationally. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for IT risk identification and mitigation Ability to facilitate discussions, prepare reports, and present findings to management. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Fluent in English language both spoken and written.
