Governance & Control Manager

Job Description:

This position aims to influence the business processes to comply with the governance rules, policies and procedures and enhance the governance culture, leading the business each day to a more mature standard of its internal controls.

What are we looking for?

Must have - University degree/ bachelor’s degree in accounting, law or business administration.

Internal Controls certification and/or master's degree in accounting or other Finance or Administration areas is a plus.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Defines, aligns and drives Governance Agenda across all units – Considering risk assessment, best practices, business needs, improvement areas, key stakeholders input (internal & external, including leadership team, regional and global teams) to propose, align and drive the Governance Agenda along with senior leads.

Partnering with Business Unit, Global, Regional and external stakeholders (PWC, lawyers, etc.) to improve controls on theft, fraud losses and overall control environment in the region. The role will work to integrate this work into the normal operations of the business to build the culture of driving good governance to deliver good business.

Leads the continuous improvement agenda within Mars Global Services Finance (MGSF) and local S&F team to drive standardization, process optimization, and enhance controls in areas as inventories, fixed assets, order to cash, procurement, among other functions.

Supports Audits and remediation plan execution - Acts as liaison with Internal Audit team, Regional Controller, Global Governance Manager and CFO, and all involved function on internal and external audit matters. Follows-up on internal audit reports to remediate potential control weaknesses while proactively implementing new controls to strengthen overall governance.
