SAM- Consultant – Red hat Licensing

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary 

Working in a team environment, the Consultant- SAM is responsible for managing customer’s licenses. The Associate Consultant will assist customers in understanding and controlling their software licensing entitlement, avoiding legal pitfalls related to licensing by leveraging industry best practices while expanding host company licensing opportunities and building more-profitable, long-term relationships with our customers.

 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities for the Role 

Gather purchase records from various sources e.g. Quote, PO, Invoices and Portal extracts to determine completeness and create entitlements summary. – Mandatory Perform extensive contract analysis on different types of red hat agreements e.g CCSP and strategic outsourcing agreement to identify the clause on licensing usage – Mandatory In Depth Understanding of red hat licensing on different environment e.g. Cloud, Virtual to suggest optimization opportunities. – Good to have Deployment analysis by gathering usage/deployment details from various client tools e.g. ServiceNow, Flexera– Mandatory Create DRL (Data Request List) for Red Hat products with non-standard metrics to collect usage information e.g. user, Managed nodes etc – Good to have Prepare ELP showcasing the compliance position, including the entitlements and deployments summary. – Mandatory Ensure Quality tracker is constantly revisited for updated checkpoints basis different scenarios identified in engagements to ensure quality. . – Good to have Front face and respond to client questions/drive engagement clients during client calls. Develop and maintain client communication, documentations on SOP related to Red Hat license management processes and procedures. – Good to have Be a Subject matter expert of red hat with the ability to suggest best licensing options in complex customer environment. – Good to have Experienced in handling queries from multiple stake holders e.g Onshore, client, Internal teams. – Good to have Be an active team player to support team when needed and load balance by allocating tasks to available members. – Mandatory

 

Skills Required: 

5 years professional experience in licensing industry with successful ITAM/SAM Management/ software licensing experience across publishers is a must. Knowledge on different publisher licensing models. Understanding of licensing scenarios, benefits, optimization opportunities. SAM Accreditation (good to have) Good knowledge in Microsoft Excel & data analytics skills. Experience with asset management software; specific experience with ServiceNow and SAM, preferred.
