Global Sourcing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Global Sourcing Specialist to focus on our **Golf brands** within the Precision Sports & Technology segment of Vista Outdoor and lead the total effort related to driving competitive advantage and cost savings from sourcing initiatives. This individual will be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for the development, planning, execution, and communication of sourcing strategies that meet or exceed Margin, Working Capital, Cash Flow, and Customer Experience targets. A key objective of this role will be to support the product development process to facilitate on time, on quality, on cost launch to market. This objective will, in part, be realized via successful execution of: + General market research in relevant categories in potential suppliers, product specifications and resources for assessment by the Vendor Management function + Development and execution of sourcing plans, RFQs, and other sourcing documents + Evaluation and recommendation of business award decisions to business unit based on Profitability Management analysis The person in this role will report to the Sourcing Director and will be based **onsite** in our **San Diego, CA** office. **As the Global Sourcing Specialist, you will have an opportunity to participate in the following:** **Relationship Management** + Manage global, executive-level business relationships within BU's + Act as a central point of contact between Sourcing and the Business Units for all communications. This includes the communication and execution of standard processes, best practices, progress reporting, issue resolution, and prioritization between/among the BUs and Sourcing. + Responsible for all elements of sourcing relevant product categories, including strategic understanding of the supply marketplace; participation in preparation and analysis of RFQ proposals/packages (Profitability Management to execute quotes by vendors); supplier selection utilizing results of Profitability Management RFQ process; communication with users across Business Units. This would include confirmation design updates are re-flowed through the process, as necessary, as well as driving off cycle customer driven initiatives (i.e. promos, SMUs, etc.) + Implement and lead vendor proposed project review process + Lead the issue and dispute resolution processes, manages executive escalations as required **Performance Management** + Participate in the development, implementation and communication of strategic sourcing initiatives. + Exhibit subject matter expertise regarding commercial and technology trends, especially electronic based products, to advise internal users on current and future market capabilities. + Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier activities and efficiencies and work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation. + Maintain visibility of the pipeline of work by suppliers to ensure that new development is executed in a timely manner. + Contribute to the detailed planning and execution of improvement actions at suppliers, inclusive of re-sourcing and SKU rationalization, as appropriate, for Vendor Management execution. + Participate in the finished product approval process for the project. **Financial Management** + Maintain accurate Sourcing vendor records and master data within all ERP systems + Analyze spend portfolio and through Vendor Management and Profitability Management teams determines overall procurement approach based on magnitude of dollars, strategic importance and opportunity for value delivery. This would include recommendations on reductions in payment terms and lead times, MOQ optimization, re-sourcing, SKU rationalization, etc. for execution by Vendor Management and Profitability Management. + Provide expertise of commercial, technology and market/trends to advise internal stakeholders within the Business Unit and Profitability Management of mechanisms to generate cost savings and drive value to bottom line. + Quantify and report value of recommended sourcing strategies. Inclusive of, but not limited to productivity gains, identifying leftover material risks, removing “hidden” costs from existing vendor relationships (i.e. tooling amortized in FOB, fees for development prototypes, etc.) + Establish make vs. buy protocol **You have:** + 5+ years of experience with expertise in sourcing and commercialization processes and best practices in a consumer products company, experience working with electronic components and outdoor products strongly preferred. + Experience evaluating make vs. buy decisions for finished goods + Bachelor’s degree required, technical degree is preferred + Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) + NetSuite experience preferred, along with contract management and RFQ/RFP systems. + Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization + Demonstrated project management success leading cross-functional teams to meet or exceed targets required + Ability to multi-task and be flexible to adjust priorities based on business needs while working independently within deadlines by taking initiative, planning, and communicating appropriately + Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, which include the ability to negotiate skillfully through tough situations and win concessions without damaging relationships and the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences **Pay Range:** $64,500.00 - $96,700.00 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
