Job Description

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision of the Director of Global Programs and Partnerships, the successful candidate will work in collaboration with faculty, staff, and students to assist Feliciano School of Business (SBUS) in reaching its goals to promote experiences that enrich global learning and intercultural competence.

This position will work directly with different stakeholders to support faculty-led study abroad experiences including the Disney Academic Exchange Program. Duties will include coordinating logistical support, pre-departure meetings, and assessment of education abroad trips and exchange programs. The Coordinator will provide support with student-related events and collaborate with SBUS and university offices to ensure efficient program operation.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as an initial advisor for prospective students who want to study abroad either through Montclair’s Faculty-Led Programs or Semester programs. Provide appropriate referrals to the International Academic Affairs for paperwork, applications, and more.Increase the presence of study abroad programs at Montclair through tabling, engaging in classroom conversations, and through media in the form of television screens, social media, and signage.Develop materials and develop the presence of social media through reels, following trends, and providing more interpersonal representation on the feed.Support SBUS’s faculty in undergraduate program development, serving as a liaison to the Office of International Academic Initiatives, throughout the development of faculty-led programs to include the proposal processes, student advising, and participant recruitment.Coordinate special events, including study abroad fairs, orientations, information sessions, classroom presentations, and other events promoting global opportunities.Performs other duties as assigned.Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.At least 2 years of experience supporting the planning and implementation of students’ events and managing programs.Ability to manage stressful situations, frequent interruptions, and multiple demands, diplomatically and calmly.Strong proficiency in written and oral communication are required.Excellent customer service skills.Demonstrated initiative and organizational skills, multitask, meet deadlines, and work successfully in a fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule (including some weekends) as required by meetings, functions, deadlines and potential travel.Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.Familiarity with systems including Workday, Google Forms, and Zoom.

PREFERRED:

Demonstrated cross-cultural awareness and global sensibility.Experience in the area of international education.Experience in higher education.Willingness to learn other software tools and platforms, for example, Terra Dotta.
